Introduction

Welcome to The Elder Scrolls Online trophy guide!
This game had a rocky release back in April 2014 however it has went from strength to strength and is now one of the top MMORPG’s on market!

In this ever expanding elder scrolls world you can play in any of 39 zones currently in the game at time of writing. You can play as any of the 10 races in the game and play any class you like – freedom is more or less limitless in this massive world. You can be a quester, focus on houses, be a crafter or focus on doing activities with your guild and much much more.

Credit: Lots of tips, tricks and pockets of information provided by PS4 & PS5 Emporer Biowolf, and my long time EU Server guild ’Expendable Heroes’.

Roadmap

A roadmap for this game is near impossible due to how massive and how much freedom you have! Nothing is missable, so you can do the trophies at your own pace, and this guide will just provide you information on how to do each trophy. This guide will cover the platinum only for now.

If you are here for the platinum only, you wont need to venture further than the base game zones however if you are building a character to be better at PvE or PvP some of the best gear may be in the DLC areas!

Game Outline

Game Beginning:
If you haven’t played before you will go straight to the tutorial and start in ‘The Wailing Prison’. If you have done the tutorial prior then the game will give you the option to skip whereby you will start in your chosen alliances main area and you can either just do as you please or you can follow the first quest you receive and it will take you to ‘The Wailing Prison’.

Alliance:
There are 3 alliances in this game; Aldmeri Dominion, Ebonheart Pact & Daggerfall Covenant.

Outside of roleplaying they don’t have a tonne of sway over the game – you can still pick whichever race (except imperial) and class (except Necromancer & Warden) you like. The main difference is it will affect which side you are on when it comes to warring in the PvP areas!

Race:
There are 10 playable races in the game, however the Imperial race is  locked behind a paywall of crowns (in-game paid/earned currency).

Each race has its own unique ‘race skills’ that will affect gameplay in some way, these can come in really handle when you are building a character to be a really good Tank, DPS or Healer

For example the Khajit race has a skill that increases your critical damage by 12% which is great for nightblades, or Bretons have good survivability/regeneration and are good for PvP.

Class:
There are 4 base game free classes in ESO; Sorcerer, Nightblade, Templar & Dragonknight. There are also 2 paid for classes; Warden & Necromancer.

Each class has 3 sub-classes unique to them with unique skills, these different sub-classes will focus on damage, healing, mobility or defensive abilities,

Each class also has 2 synergies which only appear during battle when an ally of the same class uses certain abilities which then allow you to synergise with them by pressing a button to create even more additional effects or damage.

Levelling/champion points/skill points:
The base game levels you to level 50, with each level you earn skill points which you use to unlock and upgrade class skills, you also get skill points from completing dungeons, specific quests and collecting skyshards.

After level 50 you still level up however rather than rising to 51 you instead start earning champion points, champion points can be spent on perks from 3 different celestial alignments; craft, warfare and fitness.

Champion points then rise you to a maximum level 50 champion point 3600, which allows you 1200 in each celestial stand – this may sound daunting but you can still be powerful with the right equipment and build.

Weapons and gear rise with you as you level throughout the game – they stop at champion level 160 They do however have grades (normal, fine, superior, epic, legendary) and many many enchantments you can apply through the enchantments skill).

Crafting:
Crafting is split into Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Clothing, Enchanting, Provisioning, Woodworking and Jewellery (DLC area). I would suggest levelling these as you go along and getting most to level 50. These do come in handy if you need to craft or change your build later in the game or if you want to create and sell.

Combat:
ESO combat is based around doing damage to one enemy and doing area of effect damage to groups of enemies whilst buffing yourself and your allies and nerfing your enemies. If you follow any character builds they will keep you on the right track with skills.

If you want to maximise your damage potential you can use a second bar that you unlock at level 15 to increase the amount of skills you can use. You can also use combat methods known as weaving and animation cancelling, there is a great explanation of this found here: https://alcasthq.com/eso-weaving-beginner-guide-animation-canceling/

ESO Plus:
ESO Plus is a subscription which gives many benefits including access to DLC areas, monthly crowns etc but most importantly you get an unlimited craft bag which is more or less required if you want to make any progress in this game for the sheer amount of loot you get and items you need.

Guilds:
Guilds are great to be part of even if you are mainly a solo player. Guilds have many many features. I’ll point out some of the key features;

Socialising:
this is where ESO will really come to life; guilds will run events, giveaways. Most have discords that will have hosts and your guild will group up to tackle trials or world bosses or just general completion of areas.

Guild Banks:
Members will donate in here and you can freely withdraw and deposit (unless your guild has specific rules) items and gold.

Guild Stores:
Guilds once they have grown to more than 50 members can buy stores that are dotted around the entire tamriel, you can sell your items to the wider public in these stores; great way to make money if you invest time into gathering or crafting.

When one of your characters join a guild, all your 18 (max characters) will be able to access this guild.

Zone Menu:
Each Area/Zone will have an accompanying zone menu, this will allow you to find all skyshards, dolmens, delves and public dungeons necessary for trophies. You can also locate main zone quests and track your rare fish here.

Character builds:
There are a monumental amount of builds out there for ESO all over YouTube and google.  I would suggest following one to start off with so you can work towards a build that will help you through the game until you know what to do yourself. New players may want to look at one bar builds until you are able to withstand two bar builds.

Tips:

– Once you reach CP levels there are skill nodes dedicated to crafting, mobility and fishing. Some ESO users dedicate a character to this to increase efficiency.
– Research any weapon traits that you are able too as some crafted sets sell well.
– Before dismantling or researching any items part of a set check if there worth anything. You can check this here: https://tamrieltradecentre.com
– Use the stable daily to increase your mount speed. This will be great for Cyrodil.
– Daillies, these are daily crafting quests within cities that you can do to try get rare items. You also get daily dauntless pledges for dungeons.
– Don’t worry if you use skill points on anything you don’t like or use, you get to reset these at level 50 for free.
– Many many more tips are in there dedicated trophy, make sure you read through them all.

Cyrodiil Cave Delver
Explore and clear all 18 caves in Cyrodiil.

Cyrodil is the PvP area of the game, be prepared going in as you may get attacked from other players as well as NPC. All you need to do here is go into each of the 18 caves/delves and defeat the enemy bosses. You need to kill all of them and some have 3 or 5 bosses; the number of bosses is listed in the in-game achievements. The main issue with this one is the spawn rates, there will only be one boss spawned at a time in each delve/cave , and it has been known to take 10 minutes for another to spawn, also make sure to loot a defeated boss entirely as it is speculated to stop other bosses spawning. If there are other players in the same delve with you they may kill a boss in another area without your knowledge causing you to wait a long time without knowing why.

Note – Each Delve in Cyrodil holds a skyshard

A great strategy for manoeuvring between delves is by making yourself as silent and invisible as possible. You do get invisibility potions in the game that you can create, or you can become a vampire as mentioned on a previous trophy which gives you a passive sneak skill. There are also gear sets that remove the sneak penalty; Nights Silence which is a crafted set or Shadow Dancer which is a loot set. There is also a Ring of the Witch Hunt which will increase your mobility from 15-45%. You can also join the quieter campaigns which will help you avoid enemy players also. You may also find guilds running events in Cyrodil to cover this.

Level 50 Hero Gold
Reach Level 50.

Simply reach level 50 for this one. You will get this naturally as you play through the game.

Indecent Exposure Gold
Have stolen clothing from all your armor slots repossessed at the same time by a guard.

To get this trophy you will need to steal/loot pieces of gear in cities or towns; specifically head, chest, shoulders, waist, hands, legs, and feet. You must have them equipped and have a guard stop you and confiscate these items. The main part of this is just finding the items. Advice: On the Thieves Guild skill line is a skilled named ’Clemency’, it allows you to be stopped by a guard, use it and keep your stolen items once per day. This is handy if you get caught prior to having a complete set of stolen gear.

You should find all items you need except the belt/sash in areas with Armorers and blacksmiths, they are usually just sitting tables or on mannequins. As for the belt, this is the trickier one too find however it is usually found in Inns, within nightstands, wardrobes etc.

Lycanthropy
Become a Werewolf.

There is two ways to become a Werewolf for this trophy; Get bitten by a werewolf or infected by a player.
To get bitten by a werewolf you need to go Reapers March, Bangkorai or The Rift and get bitten by a roaming Werewolf, you will then get a quest to start Hircines Gift. Complete this quest to access skill line.
Alternatively, for players who already have this skill line, there is a skill that lets them infect one player every 7 days; fellow guild members or players will usually do this if you ask. Some will ask you to pay, this is up to you. If you ask in social text chat ’looking for lycanthropy’ then you will get a response.

Vampirism
Become a Vampire.

There is two ways to become a Vampire for this trophy; Get infected by a blood fiend or infected by a player.
To get infected by a Bloodfiend you need to go Reapers March, Bangkorai or The Rift and get infected by a roaming blood fiend. If you are infected via blood fiend you must find the NPC Vorundil; he will be in Evermore, Riften and Rawl K’ha, speak with him to start Scion of the Blood Matron quest.
Alternatively, for players who already have this skill line, there is a skill that lets them infect one player every 7 days; fellow guild members or players will usually do this if you ask. Some will ask you to pay, this is up to you. If you ask in social text chat ’looking for vampirism’ then you will get a response.

Arch-Mage
Complete the Mages Guild series of quests.

To start this questline you must go to the intended first city of the game for any alliance. You have to speak to one of the following:

  • Curinure, Mages Guild Hall, Vulkhel Guard, Auridon
  • Nemarc, Mages Guild Hall, Daggerfall, Gelnumbra
  • Rudrasa, Mages Guild Hall, Davons Watch, Stone Falls

Afterwards you will be speaking with Shalidor or Valaste to continue each quest of the questline. The Quests you will be doing are: Long Lost Lore, Simply Misplaced, Circus of Cheerful Slaughter, Chateau of the Ravenous Rodent, The Mad Gods Bargain and The Arch-Mages Boon.

Fighters Guild Veteran
Complete the Fighters Guild series of quests.

To start this questline you must go to the intended first city of the game for any alliance and speak to The Khajit Guildmaster Sees-All-Colors. You can find him;

  • Fighters Guild, Vulkhel Guard, Auridon
  • Fighters Guild, Daggerfall, Glenumbra
  • Fighters Guild, Davons Watch, Stonefalls.

The Quests you will be doing are: Anchors from the Harbour, The Dangerous Past, The Prismatic Core, Proving the Deed and Will of the Council.

General Executioner Gold
Destroy all of Molag Bal’s generals that appear at the Dark Anchors.

This is one of the grindiest trophies in the game, you need to kill all of Molag Bal’s generals that appear at Dolmens. Dolmens are activities on the map that spawn a rift in the atmosphere to allow Molag Bals minions to come to Tamriel.

The Generals will all spawn at any Dolmen across the whole game, there are 16 different Generals that can spawn, only once per dolmen at the end when the boss is summoned, the generals that spawn are based upon the generals required by players present at the dolmen and also all generals have less than 10% chance to spawn in.

Apparently the Generals are further selected by what people need, which is based on everyone attacking the dolmen, of course that can be good or bad depending the size of the group.

The fastest dolmens that you can do in a clockwork direction are found in Alikr Desert and there is always massive groups farming these as they are used for skills also. If you type in lfgd (looking for group dolmen) you will be invited to a group running the dolmens so you don’t miss out on loot, exp or boss hits. Remember spawns are based on what people need, the smaller the group the better so you may want to go elsewhere but the dolmens wont spawn in as fast as they do at Alikr Desert.

Anchors Away Gold
Destroy every Dark Anchor in Tamriel.

Throughout Tamriel you will come upon Dolmens. Dolmens are activities on the map where Molag Bal spawns in his allies from Coldharbour and you must defeat them.

For this trophy you need to complete 55 separate Dolmens found across base game areas. These are easily tracked on the zone guide map as it will let you know what you have left.

There is 3 in each area of the alliance;
– Aldmeri Dominion – Auridion, Grahtwood Greenshade Malabar Tor and Reapers March.
– Daggerfall Covenant – Glenumbra, Stormhaven, Rivenspire, Bangkorai Alik’r Desert.
– Ebonheart Pact – Stonefalls, Deshaan, Shadowfen, The Rift and Eastmarch.

You will also need to complete 10 dolmens in the PvP area Cyrodil.

Cyrodil Dolmens can be tricky as enemy alliance players may be around you. A great strategy for this is making yourself as silent and invisible as possible. You do get invisibility potions in the game that you can create, or you can become a vampire as mentioned on a previous trophy which gives you a passive sneak skill. There are also gear sets that remove the sneak penalty; Nights Silence which is a crafted set or Shadow Dancer which is a loot set. You can also join the quieter campaigns which will help you avoid enemy players also. You may also find a guild that will run events through Cyrodil to collect these. If you equip the ’Ring of the Wild Hunt’ it will increase mobility by 15-45% based on being in combat or not. I also recommend levelling up mount speed daily in the town in preparation for this.

Aldmeri Dominion Conqueror
Defeat all of the Public Dungeon champions in the Aldmeri Dominion.

To earn this trophy you must achieve the in-game achievement ’Aldmeri Dominion Conqueror’ which subsequently has 5 conqueror trophies attached to it for Crimson Cove, Root Sunder, Rulanyil’s Fall, The Vile Manse and Toothmaul Gully. Each of these public dungeons have multiple bosses inside that must be defeated. The bosses that have been slain are also tracked in-game making this easier on you.

These dungeons are intended for more than one person so may be tough until you have a decent set up with good Area of Effect (AoE) damage to handle the multiple foes. Guilds will usually do ’runs’ of areas and include public dungeons, otherwise there are players doing these all the time and you can group up specifically for these by asking in the in-game chat. Here is a great resource for locating the bosses in each dungeon: https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Public_Dungeons

Emperor! Gold
Dominate the Alliance War battlefield and become Emperor of Tamriel.

This is the trophy which usually makes or breaks the platinum, or is the deciding factor for hunters actually playing the game or not. Yes the trophy is difficult however its not as bad as it was made out to be upon release.

Short: You need to be the #1 player in your campaign, in your alliance when all 6 centre keeps are captured by your alliance at the same time.

Long: ESO has 3 main alliances, who are all vying to win the alliance war. All 3 alliances are at war within Cyrodil. There is nothing more powerful than an Emperor on the field.

This trophy can be done solo (I’ll link at end if this trophy) however it is quicker and best to be done in groups otherwise known in-game is ‘zerging’ whereby you search LFG for ‘looking for group’. You may also find alliances that attempt Emperor runs or just by playing of the PvP area that you can use to earn points.

You will need to have a build geared towards PvP to do well in this area.

There are usually several campaign areas that you can attempt this in, each campaign is unique in itself and will each earn its own emperor if all 6 keeps are captured, this changes it from being #1 PvP player in whole game to being #1 player in alliance at time all keeps are captured in specific campaign. At time of writing there is 4 separate campaigns. The campaigns will be harder to get emperor in the longer time goes on as players will constantly be earning AP (Alliance Points). There is an Alliance Locked Campaign that lasts 30 days – the quicker you can get in and dominate the battlefield and capture all 6 keeps the better otherwise this can be a prolonged experience or if you start late some players may have several days or weeks head start. There is a weekly Under level 50 campaign which is better for new players but also ties in with the solo method I will link in. And another two campaigns which are standard or standard with No Champion points used.

To be number 1 player in your alliance you need to earn alliance points. There are multiple ways to earn these such as;

  • Killing enemy players
  • Capturing enemy resources and keeps
  • Defending and repairing allied resources and keeps

You must capture all 6 centre keeps for this trophy, each keep has 3 resources assigned to it which you must capture to weaken the keep so it is easier for you to capture. The 3 resources are;

  • Farm – Defeating the PvE enemies and enemy players will capture this and weaken the PvE enemies found inside the keep.
  • Mill – Defeating the PvE enemies and enemy players will capture this and weaken the gate of the keep which you will need to destroy with Ballistas which are purchased within Cyrodil.
  • Quarry – Defeating the PvE enemies and enemy players will capture this and weaken the walls, the walls don’t really play a major role in capturing the keep the main benefit of this one is stopping enemy players from spawning on the resources.

Once you have captured the 3 resources you may now capture the keep, once you have destroyed the gate with the Ballistas (you can purchase within Cyrodil), you must now defeat the PvE enemies surrounding two flags within the keep whilst also defeating enemy PvP players. Do this for all keeps and Emperor is yours if you are ranked #1 in your alliance.

Note – If your alliance already has an Emperor within the campaign you must then wait for another alliance to gain all 6 keeps and crown an Emperor before you can try again which of course may not happen because of how difficult this is.

There is a great solo method of obtaining emperor which can be found here: https://forum.psnprofiles.com/topic/82818-the-ultimate-try-hard-build-for-solo-emperorship/

Tamriel Skyshard Hunter
Find all the Skyshards located throughout Tamriel.

To earn this you must collect all Skyshards in all of the base game alliance areas, ColdHarbour and Cyrodil. Skyshards are now marked on the map so these can be easily located but you can also track these in the Journal > Achievements > Character. The smaller alliance areas have 3 or 6 each, the other alliance areas and ColdHarbour all have 16 each, whilst Cyrodil has 45 skyshards.

Cyrodil has 45 skyshards, 15 in each alliance territory and can be tricky as enemy alliance players may be around you. You may also find guilds running events in Cyrodil to cover this. If you equip the ’Ring of the Wild Hunt’ it will increase mobility by 15-45% based on being in combat or not. I also recommend levelling up mount speed daily in the town in preparation for this.

Note – If you have previously collected all skyshards on either PS4 or PS5 version, when you play the version you haven’t played yet you can buy all your skyshards from the store and get this trophy.

Master Fisher
Complete all fishing achievements.

This trophy is arguably the longest grind in the game, it even has a lower percentage than the feared Emperor trophy. You need to catch all rare fish in the base game Tamriel and ColdHarbour.

There is 1 rare fish in each of Stros M’Kai, Khenarthi’s Roost and Bleakrock Isle, there is 12 in Cyrodil, 12 in ColdHarbour and also 12 in each alliances many areas of the base game. Lots and lots of fishies.

Fish appear in fishing holes across all mentioned areas, These fishing holes all have types; River, Lake, Foul or Salt which produce different rare fish. Each type of fishing hole has specific bait that you use to catch fish in that fishing hole type. Once you find a fishing hole, hold X on it to bring up the bait wheel and select appropriate bait (the game tells you). Bait can either be bought from guild traders however this can get really expensive or it can be found almost everywhere when looting during the game, another reason the ESO plus crafting bag is required.

Tips:

  • Fishing holes have a set amount of fish however chances increase the more people at a hole. The more people you have the higher your chances of rare fish but also the faster it will run out of fish
  • If you just do your questing, delving etc as normal and when you come upon a fishing hole, always fish it dry. It will reduce grind at the end game.
  • Join a guild, there is usually someone who hosts a weekly fishing event to run around and catch fish.
  • If you get above 500CP+ you will be able to start accessing parts of the Crafting Celestial Stand that will give you nodes related to fishing. This will increase chances of catching rare fish or reduce reel time etc
  • You can also create an ‘Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl’. Method found here: https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Artaeum_Pickled_Fish_Bowl
  • This resource provides every fishing hole location that you need. Found here: https://fishingintamriel.com/fishing-maps-for-eso/

You also must fish in Cyrodil as mentioned. If you equip the ’Ring of the Wild Hunt’ it will increase mobility by 15-45% based on being in combat or not. I also recommend levelling up mount speed daily in the town in preparation for this.

Close Call Kill
Earn a kill when below 5 percent health in the Alliance War or Battlegrounds.

This one you will get naturally either by playing Battlegrounds or the Cyrodil PvP Alliance War. It is possible to be boosted if you get another person to join a campaign on the opposite alliance and meet up somewhere in Cyrodil, best done in the quieter campaign then just killing them when you are below 5% of course.

Cut and Run
Successfully escape a guard after choosing the “Flee” option in the Accost Dialogue Window.

If you commit a crime within a a city/town you will receive a bounty. The next time you are near a guard they will come up to you and ask you to pay, instead select ’flee’ and escape successfully.

Alliance War Recruit
Earn the rank of Recruit in the Alliance War.

This is earned in Cyrodil. Once you unlock Cyrodil at level 10 you must reach rank 3 to earn Recruit and this trophy. As mentioned on Emperor trophy to earn Alliance Points (basically Cyrodil experience points) you can;

  • Kill enemy players
  • Capturing enemy resources and keeps
  • Defending and repairing allied resources and keeps
Dawn of a Champion
Spend your first Champion Point.

After you reach level 50, your next level will be 1CP, essentially this is levelling to unlock attributes for your character. For this trophy you just need to spend 1 CP in one of the 3 Champion Bar Celestial Stands.

Support the Fight
Help capture a Resource (Farm, Lumber Mill, or Mine), and Keep in Cyrodiil.

For this trophy you must capture a keep in Cyrodil, and one resource (Farm, Mill or Quarry).

This may be easier on a quieter campaign as there will be less enemies, with an organised group from your guild, or just as part of the alliance war when a keep is under siege. To capture all you need to do is defeat the PvE enemies within a resource and keep whilst also defeating enemy PvP players.
Please see Emperor trophy on how to capture a keep.

Cyrodiil Champion Gold
Complete all quest achievements in Cyrodiil.

To earn this trophy you must complete ‘Cyrodil Champion’ achievement found in-game at Journal > Achievements > Quests. You must complete 5 Adventurer quest achievements which each have 10 quests attached.

I would also advise equipping ‘Ring of the Wild Hunt’ to increase mobility between 15-45%!

You can also join a guild which may do a Cyrodil quest run, or you could join a quieter campaign to lessen chances of running into a PvP player. Beware, enemy players are known to camp at quest areas.

Craglorn Completist Gold
Eliminate the threat of the Serpent and his Scaled Court throughout all of Craglorn.

To get this trophy you only need to complete the 8 zone quests. If you enter Craglorn and go to the zone guide, you can start the zone quest and then just follow this through all 8 quests.
