Introduction

Welcome to the Grid Legends Winter Bash DLC trophy guide!
The fourth and final DLC release for Grid Legends contains 8 new Story events, 3 new sponsors and relevant events, and 3 new vehicles for us to play with.

Roadmap

Step 1: Story Mode
Participate in Season 4 of the Story Mode with 8 new events to tackle. This is not about winning; this is about completing the objectives throughout each race.

You’ll be earning these trophies:
Bronze SMOKIN’!
Bronze SMOKIN’ SLIDING!
Silver SMOKIN’ SAVAGE SLIDING!

Step 2: Miscellaneous
The remainder of the DLC trophies can be obtained from miscellaneous races which can be set up in Race Creator.

During this step you’ll earn these trophies:
Bronze Do a barrel roll!
Bronze Wow, that was a great corner!
Bronze Vintage Hero
Bronze Need for Speed

Silver What do you mean, Drift?!
Silver You’re one smooth operator

Step 3: Mileage Grind
You may wish to do this in two parts, as Silver You’re one smooth operator can be a little tricky without first unlocking a couple of upgrades. It is possible to afk this grind if you are that way inclined.

During this step you’ll earn the following trophies:
Bronze The racing car

Tips and Strategies

Some of the events within Step 2 do require you to be able to beat a certain lap time; and with any such event you will expect to have to push the limits to be able to achieve the time. With this in mind you will probably require getting each vehicle to at least Stage 2 Upgrades before attempting the specific Time Trial.

If you play with the default settings, you may also wish to head into the Gameplay Options and turn of the settings of the ABS/Traction Control/Stability Control within the Difficulty Tab. Having these at the maximum setting does slow you down significantly, so you will need to learn to race with these off, just for the Time Trial Events.

8 new story events are available within this DLC, and you’ll be having just as much fun as you have done with the previous ones.

There is nothing too challenging here, so just work your way through and enjoy the story.

Remember that you do not have to win all the events, just simply complete each objective within them.

Do a barrel roll!
Complete the Barrel Roll Racecraft action

You can earn this one as early as the second race within the new story. You simply need to hit one of the ramps with one side of the car and do a 360° roll.

It does not matter if you roll along the floor, as long as you go all the way over and back onto your wheels.

The racing car
Drive at least 200 miles (321km) in the Bugatti Bolide

A bit of a mileage grind here, however we are fortunate enough to be able to afk this if we wish. This will take around one hour to do legit, and about three hours using the afk method.

In order to afk set up as per below and tape the throttle button down. You will also want to steer the vehilce slightly to the right otherwise it will drift down to the inside of the track when on the straights.

Set up as below in “Race Creator” –

  • Discipline – Time Trial
  • Class – GT Hypercar (Track Day)
  • Vehicles – Bugatti Bolide
  • Location – Cresent Valley
  • Route – Oval Circuit
  • Conditions – Day
  • Laps – N/A
  • Drivers – 1
What do you mean, Drift?! Gold
Score at least 1,000,000 points at Okutama Sprint Drift Stage – Full Route

The difficulty here is keeping the mulitplyer going, and not necesarily the score itself. The course is not designed for a drift event, adn therefore it has many slight bends, and no run off. It is possible to get this amount of points within the first half of the course, however be mindfull that the last 10% of the course is a decent place to earn a high number.

It is a personal preference on the vehilcle used, however I would stay away from the Clubman Drift Car. It is however imperitive that you adjust your vehilce tuning settings for this prior to entering the event.

You will want to aim to be roughly at a x20 Multiplier & 35,000 point by 40% course completion to bank a good chunk of the points prior to the course changing for the worse during the middl part. Between about 40%-80% there is not a great chance of getting many points, so you may as well restart if you are falling behind.

Set up as below in “Race Creator” –

  • Discipline – Drift
  • Class – Pro Drift
  • Vehicles – Nissan 370Z Drift
  • Location – Okutama Sprint
  • Route – Drift Stage – Full Route
  • Conditions – Day
  • Laps – 1
  • Drivers – 2 Minimum
  • Advanced –
    • Vehicle Upgrades – On
    • Mechanic Upgrades – On
  • Vehicle Tuning ( from the car selection screen)
    • Gear Ratio – Short
    • Springs – Soft +1
    • Dampers – Soft
    • Anti Roll bars – Soft +1
    • Brake Bias – Rear +1

Wow, that was a great corner!
Complete 5 Drift events with the 2014 SRT Viper GTS-R Drift Tuned

If you won all events during the Story Mode in Step 1 then you will have already completed 3 of these events. It is therefore simple to create a quick drift event within the Race Creator to farm these last 2 event wins.

Set up as below in “Race Creator” –

  • Discipline – Drift
  • Class – Pro Drift
  • Vehicles – 2014 SRT Viper GTS-R Drift Tuned
  • Location – Cresent Valley
  • Route – Oval Circuit
  • Conditions – Day
  • Laps – 1
  • Drivers – 2 Minimum
Vintage Hero
Win 3 Time Attack events with the BMW 2002 tii Race Car

If you won all events during the Story Mode in Step 1 then you will have already completed 1 of these events. It is therefore simple to create a quick drift event within the Race Creator to farm these last 2 event wins.

Set up as below in “Race Creator” –

  • Discipline – Circuit Racing/Time Attack
  • Class – Vintage Touring Car (Touring Cars)
  • Vehicles – BMW 2002 tii Race Car
  • Location – Barcelona
  • Route – Torres Venecianes Loop
  • Conditions – Day
  • Laps – 1
  • Drivers – 2 Minimum
Need for Speed
Reach 265 mph (426 kph) in the Bugatti Bolide

The Bugatti is only capable of reaching this speed with the assistance of a boost. Lap Boosts can be toggled on/off in the Race Creator for Time Trials, and you will require a double boost along a decent length straight to obtain this speed.

Set up as below in “Race Creator” and you will have it within a single lap –

  • Discipline – Time Trial
  • Class – GT Hypercar (Track Day)
  • Vehicles – Bugatti Bolide
  • Location – Cresent Valley
  • Route – Oval Circuit
  • Conditions – Day
  • Laps – N/A
  • Drivers – 1
You’re one smooth operator Gold
Beat a 03:03.765 lap in Time Trial at Strada Alpina (Circuito Stradale) in Bugatti Bolide

This is not as tricky as some of the previous DLC Time Trials, and it is advised that you first obtain level 3 upgrades before attempting this trophy. These can also be toggled on/off, so ensure you have them set up correctly before starting the race.

Once you have level 3 upgrades set up as below in “Race Creator”

  • Discipline – Time Trial
  • Class – GT Hypercar (Track Day)
  • Vehicles – Bugatti Bolide
  • Location – Strada Alpina
  • Route – Circuito Stradale Strada Alpina
  • Conditions – Day
  • Laps – N/A
  • Drivers – 1
  • Advanced –
    • Vehicle Upgrades – On
    • Mechanic Upgrades – On

You are looking to ensure that you are on target by utilising the split timings throughout the lap. You will want to ensure that you are around 60 seconds for the first split, and then 120 seconds for the second split. If you are around this timing then you stand a good chance.
