Introduction
Welcome to the MotoGP™21 trophy guide!
Milestone have introduced Junior Teams for the first time in the MotoGP gaming franchise for this year, which adds a little bit extra to a game that always guaranteed to please the enthusiasts. Gameplay wise we are looking at something very similar to last year, with some slight adjustments along the way.
Roadmap
Step 1: Time Trial
Use this as a tutorial, or a practice to get used to any new mechanics this years game may have. You can of course complete this in one session, or split it up if you’re getting bored of running one track over and over.
Make sure that each of the 25 laps you need to complete are “valid laps”, or this will take longer than it is supposed too.
You’ll be earning these trophies:
Race Pace
Perfectionist
Step 2: Career Mode – Part 1 (Moto3 & Moto2)
As with most of these types of games, it is best to start out with the lower tiers and then work your way up. Races range from 4-6 laps depending on the track, and there are a number of things you will want to look out for on the initial parts of starting your career path, which you will need to do until you have unlocked the relevant trophies.
- Turn on Tire Wear and Fuel Consumption
- Complete 5 valid laps during a Free Practice
- Reach your Qualifying & Race objective 15 times in Career Mode
- Complete one Manual Start
- Set up your Junior Team
Your Junior Team can be set up once you have hit at least 200,000 reputation, which will be sometime during your Moto2 championship. You’ll need to set the team up prior to finishing this season.
You will also need to ensure that you have signed with a new team (if moving up to a different class), prior to week 40.
During this step you’ll earn these trophies:
Clean Riding
Last Chance
Pole Position Genius
A Leader Not By Chance
Long Lap
Pedal to the Metal
Recruiter
Professional Tester
Negotiator
Businessman
Down To The Last Drop
Stopwatch Genius
As Per The Contract
Moto3™ Champion
Moto2™ Champion
You will also earn all all but 3 of the track related trophies, as part of the “Full Calendar” –
Victory at Losail /
Victory at Chang /
Victory at Austin /
Victory at Termas
Victory at Jerez /
Victory at Le Mans /
Victory at Mugello
Victory at Catalunya /
Victory at Sachsenring /
Victory at Assen
Victory at KymiRing /
Victory at Spielberg /
Victory at Silverstone
Victory at Misano /
Victory at Aragon /
Victory at Motegi
Victory at Phillip Island /
Victory at Sepang /
Victory at Valencia
Step 3: Career Mode – Part 2 (MotoGP & Junior Team)
You’re going to need at least 2 (probably 3) full seasons within MotoGP whilst building up you Junior Team. During the first season just concentrate on lowering the cost base of the Junior Team, whilst ensuring you stay in the black financially. It is also recommended that you only employ one rider during your first season.
The Second/Third season is where you ramp up the performance and make a run at the title.
Just remember the following while you progress.
- Complete at least 1 valid lap with each development package during the Winter Tests
- Beat the time threshold with both bikes during the Mid-Season Tests
During this step you’ll earn these trophies:
Tester
A Difficult Choice
World Championship Star
Two Consecutive Wins
Top Performance
Investor
Young Promises
Research & Development
MotoGP™ Champion
Step 4: Misc Races
The calendar within MotoGP does not include all tracks in the game during the career run, so you’ll need to set up some quick 3 lap races to knock these ones out.
Victory at Brno
Victory at Donington
Victory at Laguna Seca
Step 5: Multiplayer
A simple multiplayer once again that can be boosted with one other. Only one player actually has to race, so self boosting is also possible here. You’ll also need to ensure you “Complete a multiplayer race wearing your custom helmet”, and you’re all done.
During this step you’ll earn the following trophies:
Show Off
Good Game!

![]() ![]() Obtain access to Qualifying 2 in Grand Prix, Championship or Career mode |
In order to obtain access to Qualifying 2, you will first need to fall into the Qualifying 1 session, and then set the fastest time there.
This can easily be done by not participating in any of the Free Practice sessions, and therefore automatically placing you into Qualifying 1.
![]() ![]() Obtain the Pole Position in Grand Prix, Championship or Career mode |
Setting the fastest lap in Qualifying will get you that coveted Pole Position.
As with all trophies in this game, you can lower the AI difficulty to 20%, if you are having any troubles.
![]() ![]() Achieve the Pole Position and win a Race in Grand Prix, Championship or Career mode |
If you’re achieving the Pole Position in Qualifying it means you’re the fastest racer out there! Now go out and win the race too.
As with all trophies in this game, you can lower the AI difficulty to 20%, if you are having any troubles.
![]() ![]() Serve the penalty by racing in the Long Lap Penalty lane |
This can be done during race, or practice. After your 5th warning for exceeding track limits (cutting corners) you will be served with a Long Lap penalty. This would mean that you would need to go around the outside of a designated corner, and stay within track limits there.
After being served the penalty, you will have 3 laps to complete this, or you will be disqualified. If you happen to get this penalty during a race, and you do not have enough laps left to complete it, then you will be served with a 5 second penalty at the end of the race (which will not count for the trophy).
![]() ![]() Execute a manual start without receiving warnings |
Manual Starts can be toggled on/off prior to any race within the Riding Aids screen, and in order to achieve this one you simply need to stay away from the throttle () until the red light goes out.
There is no real need to hold the clutch in with the , however you can if you wish.
![]() ![]() Complete 5 valid laps during a Free Practice session |
If there is a particular track that you feel you are going to struggle with, then take advantage of the practice sessions to get used to it a bit more.
These 5 laps do not have to be consecutive, but they do have to be “valid” ones.
![]() ![]() Complete at least 1 valid lap with each development package during the Winter Tests |
The “Winter Test” is a preseason testing phase prior to the MotoGP career calendar starting. During this weekend you will have the choice of 3 new bikes to try out.
All you’ll need to do is complete one valid lap on each bike, and the trophy will be yours.
![]() ![]() Change your Personal Manager, Chief Engineer and Telemetrist at least once in Career mode |
This can be done at any point throughout your career, and can be completed in-between any of the races. As soon as you have enough money to sign a new staff member on, and you have someone willing to come, feel free to sign them up.
![]() ![]() Complete a multiplayer race wearing your custom helmet |
When you enter the Multiplayer Lobby you will have the option to select Official Rider, or Official Team. Selecting an Official Team will result in your custom rider participating in the race, and therefore your custom helmet.
You will need to “Share” your original creation in order for it to be available online. This can be done whilst saving any changes.
![]() ![]() Beat the time threshold with both bikes during the Mid-Season Tests |
When you come across the mid season test make sure you try out both bikes before finishing the weekend. You will also need to beat the time threshold set, but this is not difficult in the slightest.
![]() ![]() Complete 5 consecutive valid laps in Time Trial mode |
Completing 5 consecutive valid laps in Time Trial, is actually fairly tricky for a newcomer, as with the slightest movement off of the track, or a crash, your lap will become invalid.
You will need to complete 25 laps in total within Time Trial for Perfectionist, so do not stress too much about this. There is also a little trick to keep your streak going, as you are able to pause and “Restart Flying Lap” if you do happen to crash, or go off of the circuit. This will keep your streak alive, and help you on your way to achieving this.
![]() ![]() Complete all Development Tests during a weekend as a rider in Career mode |
This one can be a little bit glitchy, as I’m sure I completed this on multiple occasions before it actually unlocked.
During any Free Practice session head into the Development Test and take a look at the requirements. There are a number of different objectives, that are constantly changing from race to race, so simply go for one you feel comfortable with.
In the example below the race counted as a session, so I was able to complete this over one Free Practice session, the Qualifying, and the Race.
![]() ![]() Ensure that a Team accepts your counter proposal during a negotiation in Career mode |
As you will be moving up the classes during your career, you should think about pushing back just a little on the first contract offer.
All you need to do is adjust any of the parts of the contract slightly and then wait another week for them to come back to you. Don’t push your luck too much here…
![]() ![]() Meet the Team’s objective with both riders of your Junior Team during a GP |
See Young Promises.
![]() ![]() Earn 1,000,000 Credits in Career Mode |
If you qualify first, and win all of your races within the first 2 seasons, then you will more than likely unlock this after winning the Moto2 championship. This will come naturally on your way to the platinum.
![]() ![]() Reach a Reputation level higher than 500,000 as a rider in Career mode |
This should come automatically during your first season on a MotoGP bike (third season overall), around the mid way point of the season.
![]() ![]() Complete 10 races with Tire Wear and Fuel Consumption in Grand Prix, Championship or Career mode |
This trophy actually glitched a little on me, as it unlocked after the second race. That being said it is not a difficult one to obtain anyway.
Tire Wear and Fuel Consumption can be toggled on/off at any point prior to starting a race, so just have it on in your career mode to start with, and then switch off once the trophy has been earned.
![]() ![]() Complete the bike’s development in the MotoGP™ category in Career mode |
Development begins from the moment you start out the game. You progress towards completing the development is carried through your entire career, so it is best to start out from the very first race.
For every race weekend I found the best possible way to earn development credits was to do at least one lap in Free Practice One, rather than just skipping straight to the qualification round. This way you are earning more performance credits.
Remember to take a look at what is needed at the particular weekend ( Professional Tester), as you should be able to knock a couple out within one lap.
Continue to move your staff amongst the sections to ensure you have enough credits building up.
You can expect to earn this towards the end of your fourth season.

![]() ![]() Reach your Qualifying objective 15 times in Career Mode |
The qualifying objective will differ depending on your team. If you stick with qualifying throughout your Moto3™ playthrough, then you would have this prior to the end of the season.
Your first objective will most likely be “qualify on the first four rows”, which means you need to qualify at least twelfth.
![]() ![]() Reach your Race objective 15 times in Career Mode |
The race objective will differ depending on your team. During you initial Moto3™ playthrough your objective will most likely be “finish at least twelfth.
You would have this prior to the end of the first season.
![]() ![]() Win 1 Riders Championship with your Junior Team |
Your Junior Team can be set up once you have hit at least 200,000 reputation, which will be sometime during your Moto2 championship. You’ll need to set the team up prior to finishing this season, and prior to entering MotoGP for the first time.
It is not recommended that you have a Junior Team whilst in any other class than MotoGP, as you will not be able to cope financially.
All the Junior Team related trophies are a patient waiting game. You need to concentrate on lowering the cost of running the outfit in the first instance, rather than going for bike/rider development. In your first season hire the worst possible rider, and take a contract with a sponsor with the lowest requirements. This will help you build up your reputation, and slowly build up the team too.
You will need to complete a minimum of 2-3 MotoGP championships to get this trophy, as racing there gives you more credits. Ensure that you are always qualifying first, and winning the race. Eventually you will be in a position to go for this trophy by hiring the best available riders, whilst having a strong team built up from the ground.
![]() ![]() Win the Moto3™ Championship in Career mode as a rider |
This trophy will pop when it is mathematically impossible for anyone to catch your points tally before the season finishes. You do not have to wait till the end of the season for it to pop.
Although not necessary, I would advise to pick the “Full Calendar” to get as many track related trophies done, rather than COVID adjusted season (Official 2021 Calendar), which is slightly shorter.
![]() ![]() Win the Moto2™ Championship in Career mode as a rider |
This trophy will pop when it is mathematically impossible for anyone to catch your points tally before the season finishes. You do not have to wait till the end of the season for it to pop.
You can start your career in Moto2™ if you wish, however to get to grips with the game it’s recommended to work your way through. You also need to continue on one career in order for your reputation to build for World Championship Star.
Although not necessary, I would advise to pick the “Full Calendar” to get as many track related trophies done, rather than COVID adjusted season (Official 2021 Calendar), which is slightly shorter.
![]() ![]() Complete 25 multiplayer games |
This can be boosted with a partner in Private Matches, and only one needs to finish the race in order for it to count. You can lower the race distance to 15% (3 laps) to make this slightly quicker.
As per the normal in these multiplayer ones; if you are looking to get this done as quick as possible keep racing round the Sachsenring (Germany), as this has the quicker lap times. You can expect to spend around 2.5 hours on this one alone.
Boosting is not possible between PS5 & PS4, as the lobbies are separate.
