Introduction
Welcome to The Darkside Detective trophy walkthrough
Darkside Detective is a 2017 point and click adventure game developed by Spooky Doorway and ported to PS4 in 2021. You play as Detective McQueen as he investigates supernatural goings-on around town, all connected to the mysterious Darkside.
Darkside Detective has a lot of charm and fun and is definitely worth playing around with, in my opinion. You cannot mess up your progress in the game so feel free to explore to find all of the jokes but if you’re just in it for the trophies, I have written a walkthrough you can follow
Video guides of this walkthrough are fine as long as I am credited in the video and the guide linked!
Tips and Strategies
The interaction icon is always a looking glass unless it’s for talking to someone. I’ll still use the verbs “look at” and “pick up”, even though the icon is the same.
To use items, you need to hold on them and drag them to where you want to use them. Otherwise he’ll just look at the item in his inventory.
Sometimes there’s a weird glitch where the cursor doesn’t appear on the main menu screen when you start up the game. If it doesn’t appear, then it never will while the game is still open, so close out and relaunch the game and it should fix the problem. This happened to me much more frequently once I’d cleared Cases 1-6. You may find it easier to delete your save after you’ve cleared the main game, then unlock Cases 7-9 from the settings menu on a fresh save.
The cursor speed will slow down in Cases 6 and 7. There’s nothing you can do to rectify that. Sorry.
