Review
Forgotten Hill Disillusion is a dark, creepy puzzle game, that as you play through the areas, you unlock tomes of history, books on different subjects, notes left by previous inhabitants of the area, and more.
I wasn’t too sure about this game at first, and I’m not a big fan of horror or creepy, however, this was a pretty interesting and fun game, and all you’re doing is exploring the museum and solving puzzles. Sounds easy, right? Wrong.
For me, the puzzles were pretty challenging and mostly impossible without a guide for what to do next.
The platinum can be collected before you get to the end of the game, so if that’s your goal, then you could have the platinum in about 2-3 hours.
The creepy music and sharp, sudden musical tones give it that edge into spooksville. With gore, pained characters, and creepy statues to keep you spooked along the way.
The text when reading books or notes could be a little blurry, however, that was probably intentional.
Cool looking art and colouring and really focused detail and textures on the statues, walls and clothing.
Lots to read, collect and do, so time does fly.
Rating
Pros:
- Short
- Platinum can be done in under 3 hours
- Simple point and click controls
Cons:
- Puzzles are difficult without a guide
Summary
Overall a pretty fun and challenging experience, creepy feel and interesting notes, books and tomes to find out details of history and events. The game doesn’t really tell you where to go or what you need to do, so between exploring, puzzles, and challenges, the game is tough without a guide.
