Review
Landis, Oregon, where there’s woods, gore and a lot of snow. Young Evan faces a bleak existence as he grows up with his hateful father, surrounded by bullies, in a town that’s visited by a creepy and dangerous guest.
I sat at my keyboard for 10 minutes contemplating how to approach this review. This game, which prides itself as horror, really isn’t.

The only ‘horror’ thing about this game was the drops of gore and some creepy-ish music when Evan visits the guest. The rest of the game had little to no music, which made it seem duller.

I even found myself getting distracted, becoming bored and ended up having little interest in the story or characters. The dialogue, before I used the skip button, was uninteresting and sometimes just felt like a bunch of words put together to make a sentence.
The designs, colouration and texture were perfect for this snowy backdrop and ‘eerie’ town. The controls were simple and responsive and actually the overall gameplay was great.

Lots of items to interact with, which would be time consuming and tedious if not using a guide. As well as plenty of areas to explore and characters to speak to.

There was a lot, and I mean, a lot of backtracking in this game, which did get annoying and repetitive.
Rating
Pros:
- Pretty designs
- Calm atmosphere
Cons:
- Definitely not a horror game
- No likeable characters
- Far too much backtracking
- Uninteresting story
Summary
The game is short with a guide, which is highly recommended as the only really good thing about this game was the quick platinum trophy. I was looking forward to playing this game and feel a little disappointed that it wasn’t actually a horror game and, there were no interesting factions with the characters or the story. Which is such a shame as this game would of had so much potential to be a really interesting and different type of horror story.

Another great review, Emma. Seems like a game to avoid at all costs.
