Introduction:

Welcome to the Islanders: Console Edition trophy guide!
This beautiful, relaxing minimalist strategy game is Developed by German indie game studio GrizzlyGames and brought to consoles by Coatsink.

Originally on PC hence ‘Console Edition’. This game reminds me of the game ‘Godus’, and can also feel like Tetris at times; you’ll see what I mean!

Tips and Strategies:

  • Take your time, just explore what will give your buildings the most points, there is no rush at the start – The game does a good job of telling you what’s good and bad for each building.
  • Remember this is a strategy game, placement is key over highest points eg. Your mill gets extra points being next to the starting tower, however you need to make sure there is plenty of space for farms around your mill, as overtime you will gain more points than the tower could ever give you.
  • Always check what your island has, don’t pick a lumber mill if you do not have trees, and don’t pick a mill if you have a map of rocks/sand.
  • Plan ahead, if you pick a mill remember you will also get a city, make sure you can place both.
  • Remember to rotate your buildings and fit them in a bit like tetris.
  • Set 2 city centres side by side, you’ll make up for the loss with double points from houses/mansions and make sure to leave a space in the middle of the city for a fountain.
  • I’d recommend keeping a plateau for either a market or resort for help with investor and perfectly placed
  • Personally I recommend leaving the farming/mill, it takes up too much space and is not worth it.

Brilliant Position Silver
Earn 50 points from one building

This is easiest with the Shaman building if RNG is in your favour, and you have a good amount of flowers to place it next to, or you have the park/fountain and place it next to a bunch of buildings and city centre you have.

Perfectly Placed Gold
Earn 75 points from one building

This can be done with market/jeweller/temple in a built up city; best way is to use a plateau on the outskirts of your city (plateau can be used on land, cliff edges or on water), as the radius of said buildings are quite high you will garner a lot of points – if you dont get enough, hold off and place more houses/mansions first.

You can also place a monument next to parks for high score of over 100.

Wealthy Bronze
Have at least 12 buildings in your inventory at once

If you have enough points to move onto another selection then just keep the buildings you have and don’t place them.

Sprinter Gold
Reach the second island within 2 minutes and 30 seconds

Make sure you understand your island very quickly and understand what buildings will bring you the most points quickly, this is more about speed than making sure you squeeze each point available out of buildings. Just place and move on as fast as you can.

Athlete Gold
Reach the third island within 7 minutes

Puzzle Solver Silver
Have exactly 100 points after placing a building

Just add up into the 90s, keep a lumber mill spare and place it around trees as trees add on 1 point each, otherwise placing houses away from a city centre give 1 point each.

In the top right of the game it will tell you what points you get from for each building.

Investor Bronze
Lose a total of at least 100 points in one match

Placing a resort oasis next to a residential area.

Placing a temple it already has a base negative value of 75 upon placement, place it next to a building(s) it doesn’t like and there you go.
