Introduction

Welcome to the Mathland trophy guide!
Put your noggin to the test with this math-rules-all game meant to help young kids better under basic maths. You’ll complete addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and comparisons problems as you make quick work of this platinum.

Roadmap

Step 1: Earn 153 Spyglasses
To unlock everything required for Platinum, you’ll need 153 spyglasses in total. When you first start up the game, you’ll automatically be put into an addition minigame where you can earn quite a few. The rest can be earned in the Math Zone. Here, you have your choice of operations and comparisons. Addition and Comparisons will get you 1 spyglass per correct answer, Subtraction will get you 2, Multiplication will get you 3, and Division will get you 4. You can double these payouts by paying 50 coins, but that’s not necessary unless you’re trying to unlock everything possible in the game. The math problems will all be basic so you shouldn’t have too much trouble earning the required spyglasses.

Once you have all 153, you just need to play (and complete) the first level on each island. While a few of them will have goals outside of finding the gem, that will be your main goal for each of the 5 levels. Everything you need to find will be along the main pathway so don’t worry too much about missing anything. Gold Gotta catch ’em all and GoldFor the first time in forever will unlock naturally as you play through the 5 levels as well, so this will be a smooth sailing platinum for all.

You’ll be earning these trophies (in the order they should unlock):
Gold Sea of Addition
Silver Gotta catch ’em all
Gold Addition Gem
Gold Sea of Subtraction
Silver For the first time in forever
Gold Subtraction Gem
Gold Sea of Multiplication

Expert in maths
Unlock all achievements

Unlock all other trophies in the game to get this platinum.

Gotta catch ’em all Gold
Get first collectable

Collectibles are earned by completing the main objective in each level. You’ll get this while completing the first level of Sea of Addition, The First Gem. The goal will be to collect 50 coins, all of which will be along the main path, making this trophy impossible to miss.

For the first time in forever Gold
Finish valve minivame successfully.

Periodically throughout the game, you’ll travel the islands in your boat and will need to lower walls to progress forward. The valve required to lower the wall is the one that unlocks the trophy. Just rotate the leftstick until it’s all the way down and the trophy will unlock.

If you’re going purely for trophies, this will unlock as you go for Gold Subtraction Gem.

Sea of Addition Gold
Unlock the first island from the Sea of Addition

The first island in the Sea of Addition will be level 1, The First Gem, and will cost 3 Spyglasses to unlock. If you didn’t get enough spyglasses during the initial math minigame, you can go to the Math Zone and complete math problems to earn more. As soon as you have enough, unlock the first island and you’ll unlock this trophy.

Sea of Subtraction Gold
Unlock the first island from the Sea of Subtraction

The first island in the Sea of Subtraction will cost you 30 spyglasses to unlock. If you’re short, you can go to the Math Zone and hammer through however many problems you need to get the spyglasses required. As soon as you unlock the island, the trophy will unlock.

Sea of Multiplication Gold
Unlock the first island from the Sea of Multiplication

The first island from the Sea of Multiplication will be level 12, Watch Your Step!, and will cost 40 spyglasses to unlock. If you don’t have enough, go to the Math Zone and complete some math problems until you have enough. Once you’ve unlocked the first island, the trophy will unlock.

Sea of Division Gold
Unlock the first island from the Sea of Division

The first island from the Sea of Division will be level 17, Volcanic Islands, and will cost 40 spyglasses to unlock. If you’re short or don’t have enough, go to the Math Zone and complete math problems to earn spyglasses. Once you have enough, unlock the level to unlock the trophy.

Sea of Comparisons Gold
Unlock the first island from the Sea of Comparisons

The first island from the Sea of Comparisons will be level 22, Earthquake Island, and will cost 40 spyglasses to unlock. As mentioned before, if you’re short on spyglasses, you can complete math problems in the Math Zone to earn more. Once you have enough, unlock the island to unlock the trophy.

Addition gem Gold
Unlock the first gem from the Sea of Addition

The first gem in the Sea of Addition can be found on level 1, The First Gem (fitting name, really). The goal of the level will be to collect 50 coins, but you can also find the old man to get a key that leads to a chest. The gem will be inside the chest. The old man is along the main path and will require you to correctly answer 5 addition questions before he’ll give you the key. When you have it, an arrow will appear that will lead you in the right direction. As soon as you open the chest, the trophy will unlock.

Subtraction gem Gold
Unlock the first gem from the Sea of Subtraction

The first gem from the Sea of Subtraction can be found on level 7, The Lost Island. The goal of this island will be to collect 100 coins, but to get the gem, you need to find the old man, get the key, and open the chest, all of which are along the main path of the game. If you don’t already have it, For the first time in forever will unlock as you work on getting the key. For this island, the old man will give you 4 subtraction questions to answer before he’ll give you the key. Once you’ve opened the chest and received the gem, the trophy will unlock.

Multiplication gem Gold
Unlock the first gem from the Sea of Multiplication

The first gem from the Sea of Multiplication can be found on level 12, Watch Your Step!. Unlike the previous gem trophies, the actual goal of this island will be to find the gem itself instead of just coins. Just as before, you’ll first need to find the old man (he’s along the main path) to get the key. You’ll need to answer 4 multiplication problems to get it and when you do, just continue along the main path to find the chest. Once you open the chest and get the gem, the trophy will unlock.

Division gem Gold
Unlock the first gem from the Sea of Division.

The first gem from the Sea of Division can be found on level 17, Volcanic Islands. As with the Sea of Multiplication, the main goal for this level will be to find the gem, so you can’t miss it. You’ll need to go a bit slower on this island since the ground changes as you walk (the ground can disappear causing you to fall into the lava). Don’t worry about losing all your hearts or getting a game over since it doesn’t really affect anything. You’ll just restart at your most recent checkpoint with full hearts. You’ll pass the door containing the chest before finding the old man, but they’re not too far from each other. This time, the old man will require you to correctly answer 4 division problems, after which he’ll give you the key to the chest. Unlock the chest to unlock the trophy.

Comparisons gem Gold
Unlock the first gem from the Sea of Comparisons.

The first gem from the Sea of Comparisons can be found on level 22, Earthquake Island. Just as with the Sea of Multiplication and Sea of Division, the goal of this level will be to find the gem itself, so it can’t be missed. There are 3 islands to visit here: the starting island, the old man island, and the chest island, all of which are very close to each other. When you find the old man, you’ll need to solve 6 comparison problems, are create greater than/less than solutions. Once you have they key, make your way to the island with the chest. Open it up to get the gem and to unlock this trophy.
