There’s something so peaceful and calming about fishing games. Spending the day out on the water lightly swaying with the ripples, waiting patiently for a fish to bite. It makes for a nice change in pace.
However, there’s something dark and sinister lurking in the waters, which is uncovered with quests from the local residents, and also with the fishing itself, especially at night.
Fish and repeat. This is what will need to be done initially as you become stranded in Greater Marrow after a deadly storm damages your boat. You need to earn money buy catching and selling fish in order to pay off the repairs. Once the repairs are paid off, you can then earn money for purchasing upgrades and items. It is important to upgrade the boat and rods as a main objective as this will help with traversing.
A mysterious secret surrounds the ports of Marrow, so be sure to explore as much as you can to uncover mutated fish, strange lights and buried treasure. Some of which can only be seen at night. Just be careful out on the waters at night as you’ll start to feel uneasy and become panicked. It’s also pretty impossible to see when the sun goes down, so ensure you work on upgrading your lights as soon as possible.
You’re equipped with a map, compass, and a standard fishing rod – what you’d need to begin your fisherman’s journey. As you dredge the waters collecting treasure, materials from shipwrecks and fish – you can craft upgrades for your boat, which improves the fishing experience.
The ocean is split into shallow, coastal and deep – watch your back in the deep ocean, you never know what you’ll find.
The travel starts off fairly slow, but this will soon change after completing quests as you gain a boat item where you can increase speed, be careful not to overload the boat however, as this will lead to big problems.
The creepy feel of this game, combined with the calmness of fishing, really adds another layer to this fun, horror coated, captivating story.
