Introduction

Welcome to the F1 Manager 2023 trophy guide!
From Frontier Developments; “The intense world of Formula 1® comes alive for a new season in F1® Manager 2023. 23 races, six F1® Sprint events, new cars, new circuits including the Las Vegas Strip Circuit, new drivers, new challenges… Your legacy begins here.

Roadmap

Step 1: Getting Started
F1 Manager 2023 follows a similar structure to the previous year’s game, but the added focus on real-world race scenarios brings a welcome layer of variety. Before beginning your main save, it’s worth dipping into these scenarios to get a feel for the mechanics, as each one drops you into a pivotal moment from the 2023 season and gives you a clear objective to beat. They take very little time, but they do help you settle in. You’ll also need to complete one of these to obtain Bronze Time-Line Tweaker.

Step 2: Your First Season
When starting your career, your team choice will shape how smooth your platinum run is. Red Bull offers the easiest path, with a car strong enough to absorb most mistakes. Ferrari, Mercedes, and Aston Martin provide a hands-on experience without being overwhelming. The Midfield teams like McLaren, Alpine, Alfa Romeo, AlphaTauri, Haas, and Williams require more development work if you want all trophies in a single season, so are not recommended if you are going for the quickest possible route.

Focus on key systems early, as every trophy can be unlocked within a single season if you get the timing right. The most critical task is upgrading the Design Centre, which takes the entire season to reach maximum level. Begin that process immediately to avoid not being able to complete this as Season 2 starts.

During race weekends, simulate practice and qualifying to save time, but take control during the races themselves. Your strategic choices like, tyre selection, timing, and pit calls make the difference between average and strong results.

Most trophies unlock naturally as you progress, whereas some will require you to action certain aspects; staff improvements, car part development, facility upgrades, point finishes, race wins, and both championships. The trickiest elements are the Fastest Pit Stop Award and long-term board objectives, so keep Pit Crew development steady throughout the season. With good upgrades and strategy, your first campaign should net the platinum, though Season 2 remains an option for any remaining trophies.

Tips and Strategies

  • Choose Easy Career Difficulty. This is actioned when you pick your team and edit your name, and without this you could need a second season.
  • Choose the right team. Red Bull for speed and safety; Ferrari, Mercedes, or Aston Martin for a more engaging challenge.
  • Upgrade the Design Centre immediately, as delaying this will push trophies into the next season.
  • Keep car development ongoing and focus upgrades on parts falling behind in Car Analysis. Small gains accumulate over the season.
  • Regularly train your Pit Crew by adjusting what makes the quicker stops each month.
  • Simulate Practice and Qualifying every race.
  • The Auto-save before each race is a safety net if a driver crashes or a strategy misfires.

Assign a race strategy in Career Mode.

If you have guidance turned on, they will take you through this part that takes place between the qualifying session and the race, and here you will want to assign where each driver plans to take their pit stops during the upcoming race.

It is very easy to miss assigning a strategy, if you are rushing through the game, however you get the opportunity prior to entering every single race, so you should obtain this with no issues.

Home Improvements Gold
Build or upgrade a facility.

Any facility counts for this one, so you can upgrade one of the cheapest/quickest ones, however being as you are required to upgrade your design centre to the maximum level in order to achieve Silver Many Hands Make Light Work you will naturally obtain this.

You should regularly upgrade/refurbish your facilities throughout the season to maintain a decent standing within the grid anyway.

To My Part’s Content
Fit a car part to your car.

You will first need to obtain Bronze Design Right to be able to have a new car part to add to your car. Once the part has been designed you will first need to Manufacture the parts (Cars > Car Parts Development > New Project) and then install it.

You will be prompted when a newly manufactured part is ready to install.

Design Right
Design a car part.

This can be done as soon as you start out from the Cars > Car Parts Development > New Project > Design section. Once here press to see how you compare against the other teams and develop the highlighted areas that you are lacking in.

CFD MAU Hours & Wind Tunnel Hours are available to be adjusted and limited numbers are added at specific times throughout the season. You do not have to utilise these, however the more of them you use, the better the part. Just remember that the are limited hours.

You can also adjust how many engineers you want to assign to this project (up to 6) to speed the timeframe up.

Have Your Say
Vote on a regulation change.

This will happen naturally as you progress through the season and will come along at least twice throughout each one. one of the great things about this game is that it does not let you progress until you have completed specific actions between races; this is therefore unmissable.

Thinking Ahead
Complete a car part research project for next season.

Once you have the opportunity head into the following area and complete a research project on any part that has “minor changes for next season”.

  • Cars > Car Parts Development > New Project > Research

Similar to designing a part, this will have an effect on next seasons’ car only.

As Promised Gold
Achieve the board’s season target.

If you are following the tips outlined at the beginning of the guide, then you should have no issues obtaining this trophy alongside many others. Your target will most likely be “1st”, so you will obtain this one alongside Gold Drivers’ Champion.

The trophy itself will not actually pop until the last race of the season is over.

Commited To The Team Gold
Achieve a long-term board objective.

If you are following the tips outlined at the beginning of the guide, then you should have no issues obtaining this trophy alongside many others. Your “long-term board objective” will most likely be to win the Constructors’ Championship, so you will obtain this one alongside Gold As Promised within your first season.

The trophy itself will not actually pop until the last race of the season is over.

Welcome Aboard
Sign a contract with a driver or staff member.

This can be done at any point within the season and is related to renewing a contract with (most likely) one of your engineers. This can also be awarded if you sign a new staff member from another team.

You can view staff contracts via the Staff tab, and you will be prompted that a staff members’ contract is expiring towards the end of the season.

Many Hands Make Light Work Gold
Have 18 engineers assigned to projects at the same time.

Once your Design Centre reaches its maximum level, you’ll have access to all 20 engineers, with up to six assigned to any single design or research project. If you’re following the earlier tip and running with Red Bull, you’ll need to upgrade the Design Centre three times over the course of the season.

Each upgrade takes several in-game months and comes with a hefty price tag, so you’ll need to plan your finances carefully. Start the first upgrade as early as possible, as you’ll need the entire season (and to start the next) to complete all three, and make sure you always have enough money banked for the next level as soon as it becomes available.

These are the amounts you’ll need to keep ready –

  • First Upgrade: $11,500,000
  • Second Upgrade: $18,000,000
  • Third Upgrade: $32,000,000

Winning races and hitting sponsor objectives will usually net you around $4–5 million, so try not to let your balance drop too far below the required upgrade thresholds while upgrading other facilities. Proper budgeting here saves you from being forced into Season 2 unnecessarily.

Point Venture
Score your first championship point in Career Mode.

Obtained naturally on your way to Gold Drivers’ Champion.

Fine-Tuned Machine Gold
Win the Fastest Pit Stop Award.

You’ll earn this by winning the Fastest Pit Stop Award at the end of the season. Start training your pit crew early, focusing on Pit Stop Time, and keep their fatigue low so they stay consistent across all 23 races. As long as you maintain steady, clean pit stops throughout the year, this will unlock naturally.

Dune Duster Gold
Win in Qatar in Career Mode.

You should have no issues unlocking this on Easy difficulty, especially if you’ve been following the tips outlined at the start of the guide. Make sure your car is in the best possible shape by purchasing fresh Engines, Gearboxes, and ERS units as needed, which gives you the strongest performance window heading into the race. Just remember to take these new components when you reach Japan, as fitting them any later will result in a grid penalty for the following race, which can make things unnecessarily difficult. Keeping on top of your components and planning ahead will give you a clean run at this trophy.

What Happens in Vegas Gold
Win in Las Vegas in Career Mode.

Just remember to take these new components when you reach Brasil, as fitting them any later will result in a grid penalty for the following race, which can make things unnecessarily difficult. Keeping on top of your components and planning ahead will give you a clean run at this trophy.

Sprint, Not A Marathon Gold
Win a Sprint Race.

Winning a Sprint Race is very straightforward once you’re settled into your season. Pick a strong team and focus on tyre strategy; Softs are usually the safest choice unless conditions change. Make sure your drivers stay aggressive, manage tyre wear sensibly, and take advantage of DRS trains wherever possible. With a competitive car, you should secure a Sprint win naturally as you progress through the calendar.

Light Up The Board
Finish a race with the fastest lap in Career Mode.

This will come without much effort, especially if you’re running with a front-running team. Wait until you have a comfortable gap late in the race, pit for a fresh set of Soft tyres, and push your driver on maximum pace. As long as the tyres are clear and the track is free, you’ll almost always set the fastest lap. You only need to do this once for the trophy.

Box, Box
Finish a race with the fastest pitstop in Career Mode.

If you’ve been training your Pit Crew consistently from the start of the season, this should unlock naturally. Prioritise Pit Crew development in the Facilities tab and keep them in regular training to reduce fatigue and improve consistency. Once your crew is built up, their stop times will reliably drop into the fastest range. You don’t need the absolute best number on the grid every race, just one event where your stop is recorded as the fastest is enough for the trophy.

Time-Line Tweaker
Obtain a Challenge Scenario Trophy.

You can access these real-life race scenarios directly from the Main Menu, completely separate from your main Career save. Each scenario drops you into a key moment from the 2023 season and gives you a clear objective to complete, usually taking only a few minutes. Simply pick any scenario, follow the task you’re given, and finish it to unlock the trophy. There’s no need to worry about team choice, upgrades, or long-term planning here, so it is perfect way to start out the game.
