For Cory
This review was completed and scheduled prior to the unfortunate passing of our friend Cory “OniWalker”, and while the decision as to whether to still post was not one made lightly, he always worked hard on everything he did and would rather his work not go unseen.

Mozart returns to Prague to not only get the payment that he is due for a piece of work, but also to continue some of his current work. While there, he gets dragged into a murder, and is then framed for it. Everyone believes it’s his fault, but he decides to break out of prison and investigate everything by himself to prove his innocence! What a weird twist right?

The story in this game is so weirdly presented, considering the fact that Mozart was not a detective, unless I don’t think he was, and everyone had such a bland and boring voice to them. I’ll admit there were a few story beats that kept me a bit interested, but at some point I got kind of lost with what was going on in the story. Suddenly this man is totally the villain, and this guy isn’t dead, and this person is now the villain! At some point I honestly just kind of stopped caring as much as well. Heck some of the story bits make no sense. One second the leader of the Stone Masons sends Mozart to jail, and then twenty minutes later when you’ve broken out, he doesn’t mention anything! I just broke out of jail, no biggie, so let’s continue on with the investigation!

When it comes to the gameplay, thank god there are walkthroughs out there for people like myself who are absolutely terrible at these sorts of games. As I looked at the walkthrough, I sat there thinking about how long all of this would take me to figure out. As you play through the game though, aside from the normal point and click gameplay, you get met with little minigames! Some are overused and abundant, and others are used only once and you’re still scratching your head as to how the solution ever got figured out.

The most overused minigames is one where you have to keep a baton inside a moving circle to “perform” a musical score, and the other is correcting musical scores. Now if you know how to read music sheets, I guarantee this minigame would be a cake walk for you. But if you can’t? You’re going to be in it for a long time let me tell you! You only get so many chances to swap around music notes on the sheet of paper, and if you fail, you have to try again and again and again. Of course they get harder and bigger as you progress through the game, so eventually you’re left trying to remember which ones went where while you just get super lucky!

The game is just riddled with bugs. From game breaking bugs that happen if you don’t happen to do a sequence of events in the proper order, to some kind of sillier bugs that I laughed at. When you play blackjack, you can actually end up making the AI pick up a bunch of cards so they end up off screen. So when that happened, I laughed if I’m being honest. But when it came to the game breaking bugs, well obviously I got angry. After one conversation, the game froze up everytime. I had to make a new save, and restart the whole thing just to be able to progress! Plus the absolute worst thing is that when you start the game, there is no main menu, no the game just starts. So you have to wait for a loading screen, then skip the opening cinematic, then wait for a cutscene, then skip dialogue, then finally you can load your save file. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME! Who made this decision!?

Rating
Pros:
- Funny Bugs
- Intriguing Story Sometimes
Cons:
- Game Breaking Bugs
- Repetitive Minigames
- Awful Acting
Summary
This game is a cheaply made point and click with bugs galore. Sure the story got me interested sometimes, but the puzzles and general gameplay is just awful. We also can’t forget those awful repetitive minigames either! Don’t play this.
