Introduction
Welcome to the Gruta trophy guide!
From Capi Capi & Ratalaika Games, “In this narrative-driven platformer game, you play as a child that runs away to fight the monster she thought was causing trouble in her family. Uncover the mysterious truth as told through original hand-drawn cut scenes, completely without text. Use a sword and shield to combat sinister enemies while exploring the levels.
Will you be able to reach the goal of confronting the monster and saving your family?“
Roadmap
Step 1: Find all the Secret Cutscenes
There are 9 secret cutscenes located throughout your playthrough, and you will need to find them all being as there is no level select; it is therefore imperative that you take note of the below locations to ensure that you do not have to replay the game. Checking the black edge walls on either side of each level will most probably get you all the secrets, however below we have included their positions.
Whilst playing through you will need move into the hidden area to reveal the secret, open the chest, and play out the cutscene. If a cutscene does not trigger for any reason when you open the chest you can shut the game down fully, then continue when you start up again.
Step 2: Playthrough & Miscellaneous
Most of the trophies will come naturally as you playthrough, however there are a few in particular that you need to pay attention too –
Deku Shield – Can be done anywhere; you can get this out of the way on the first possible enemy, however you’ll be using the shield a fair amount of times naturally.
Bat Hunter – Just make sure you kill all enemies until this unlocks
Right in the eye – You should get this naturally, especially when you come across the Volleyball area as there are plenty opportunities. A great place is just after getting the 8th secret where you can kill 5 enemies with a single ball.
Volleyball – There will be a number of opportunities where you can fire back the projectile at a box. Should come naturally, however it is worth mentioning.
Dead in the end – Die as soon as you enter the room with the final boss. You will know it’s the final boss as you would have just earned the trophy for reaching the final boss room (
The monster under the bed). Just move left and jump into the spikes.
There is no need to actually beat the game, as your final trophy should be related to dying against the final boss. If however you have missed any trophies you will need another playthrough of this one.
Tips and Strategies
– There is no time limit to the game so just take your time. Arrows from Archers can kill multiple crawling enemies if you deflect them, so use this to your advantage.
– Boxes will begin to turn into spiked ones, so you will need to speed things up a little here. It will only take a couple of tries on any point you may find difficult however.
