Introduction

Welcome to the Mozart Requiem trophy guide!
The year is 1788, and Mozart is drawn into a world of political conspiracy and murder. Originally published in French in 2008, the game has been translated with tweaked gameplay and puzzles, and released in English in 2022.

Video guides of this walkthrough are fine as long as I am credited in the video and the guide linked!

Tips and Strategies

THERE IS NO AUTOSAVE.  Make sure you’re manually saving the game!  You have five slots to play around with.

To save the game, press  in the save menu to save and return to the game.   However, to load the game, you want to press on whatever file you want to load.  Pressing will cause the game to lock up more often than not.

This game can sometimes be iffy with save loading.  I HIGHLY RECOMMEND making a save at the beginning of each chapter, then saving on a separate slot while you play through each chapter (for example, Save 1 was always the beginning of whatever chapter I was on, and Save 2 was whatever progress I was making in the chapter)

Mozart’s Requiem has no title screen!  So whenever you come back to it after closing out of the game, you’ll have to wait until you regain control at the beginning of the game, then load your save from the pause menu.

Open cupboard – pick up empty boiler and large spoon
Use empty boiler (move pointer up to access inventory) with pitcher of water – get boiler of water
Exit left of wardrobe (hotspot looks like footprints) to change camera angle
Pick up candle, then go back into the bedroom
Click pouch (desk) – get clockmaker keys and watch

This is a recurring puzzle in the game – making the music sound right.  First, let the music play out, so the game will outline what notes can and should be swapped.  Notice that some are orange and some are blue – blue notes are on the correct row but not the correct place, while orange are in the incorrect row (if there’s more than one row) and place.  When a note is correctly placed, you will no longer be able to move it (the blue/orange will disappear).  You can only make a set amount of mistakes per turn.

Back in the journal, you should now see a cypher on the left page (if not, do the baton minigame again).  Click the gears button below the cypher.  I think the letter placement is randomized (because depending on how well you did in the baton minigame, there amount of letters you need to remove is different), but the letters you want to remain will read out “NUMBER THREE IS SACRED” when read from left to right, top to bottom (so, first row left to right, then second row left to right, etc).  The game will let you know when you’ve done it correctly; click the check mark to exit, then click the close icon in the top right corner of the screen to go back to the gameplay area.

Click coach/coacher a few times to progress the story – Silver Chapter IV: On the road to the palace unlocked

CHAPTER V

Praha Castle – Lobby

It’s a bit difficult to tell, but there’s only four keys/knobs you need to worry about here (they’re lighter than the rest of the keys/knobs).  The game defaults on the second of the four knobs, so click the next one to the left to get in place for this solution.

If you’ve done this correctly, the harpsichord will automatically play and you’ll be removed from the puzzle.

On the first page, click the baton picture and do the baton minigame – do the best you can; this one is quicker than the first time and the controls are awful.  Once you’ve finished it, click the close icon in the top right corner of the screen (you can barely see it)

The gears are labeled as 50, 40, 25 and 10.  Each part of the tower has an upper and lower peg for gears.  Put the 50 on the bottom peg of the second part.  Put the 40 on the bottom peg of the fourth part.  Put a 25 on the bottom peg of the first and third parts.  Put a 10 on the top peg of the third and fourth parts.  Press the tower button to solve the puzzle.

MAKE A SAVE.  If you exit this puzzle unfinished, you can’t get back into it.  Upon reloading, if the circuit is gone, you’ll need to close out of the game and reload your save.

Drag the circuit and drop it on the bottom half of the beetle
On the circuit, click all three numbers on the right so they read 2.  Also, click the bottom-left number so it reads 2 (middle and top left should read 1)

This is basically blackjack, but you want to get as close as possible to (but not exceed) 31.  Click the card pile to add more.  When you have a hand you’re happy with, press the circle button with the hand on it.  There are 10 rounds (I think), and you want to have the highest number of rounds won at the end.  If you need to start over, the card mat is on the street.

Pick up piece of rope (middle of the five rope gates)
Pick up unsealed bar (jail cell left of the one with the person)
In inventory, combine rope and bar
Use bar/rope with the person’s cell
Exhaust conversation
Click small lever – hotspot is on the ground between prisoner and the bottom of the stairs
You will get a flask of salt
Exit into Temple

Temple
Walk right/down until the camera changes
Approach the men and stop when the camera changes
Pick up iron mask
Exhaust conversations
Look at both thrones
Pick up stone key from left throne
Open coffer on left – discs, brush, and ink are added to your inventory
Use salt with bassin
Use white discs (“tissue”) with bassin – get salt water discs
In inventory, click Book of Harmonics (if you can’t, go to the previous screen and look at the door first)

Play the baton minigame on the Enlightenment page.  The cypher answer you need to solve afterwards is “THE BLACK EYE OF THE HAWK GOD”

Walk down the stairs until the camera changes
Use black ink with Eye of Horus (on the door)
Place discs in the slots, left to right: red / green / white / red / green / white / green
Exit to the prison area, get on the elevator and click the lever

Elevator
Talk to man
All without God and nothing with
Go up the stairs

Statuary
Use key of stone with stucco
The hieroglyphics on the right wall now have names.
Click in order: breadth / humidity / celestial arch / earth
Click score
In inventory, combine ink and brush (you can’t do that without looking at the score)
Use brush/ink with score

second row left with first row right
eighth row left with first row
seventh row right with sixth row right
sixth row blue with the note next to it
fifth row blue with fifth row left
second row left with sixth row left
third row middle with eighth row right
third row blue with third row right
fourth row left with sixth row
second row left with eighth row left
seventh row left with second row left
eighth row right with third row right
fourth row middle with eighth row left
seventh row left with fourth row middle

swap the final two notes

MAKE A SEPARATE SAVE so if you choose the wrong dialogue choice at the beginning of the next chapter, you won’t have to do the puzzle again
Pick up the score
Use score (fourth fragment) with organ
Exit left towards exterior – Gold Chapter XVI: To the heart of darkness unlocked

Give small statue to Vana
Talk to Vana
Play the 31

Win 31.  If the 31 game glitches and you close out early, and Vana won’t talk to you again, click Mano’s feet to reveal the mat where you can replay 31 (this is also the mat you click if you lose the game)

Exhaust conversation – Gold Chapter XVII: Friends or foes? and 40-platinum Chapter XVIII: Defeat the conspirator unlocked (whoops!)
There is still one more chapter in the game, but it is not needed for trophies.

  1. At the end of chapter 4 can’t board the coach. Says I need to be sure of the time of the Masonic meeting ?. I looked at the pigeon and it sounds like you get told that information ?.

      1. Thanks for checking out the Walkthrough, Unless the game has changed somewhat through patches, this should have got you through that point in the game, as the info is definitely received from the pigeon.
        Maybe try all interaction options with the pigeon or check and see if there’s a new music puzzle in the book that needs to be solved to give that information.
