Introduction

Welcome to the Solar Ash trophy guide!
Solar Ash is a fast-paced, open world action adventure that puts you in the shoes of Rei, a Voidrunner whose main goal is to save her home planet from being destroyed by the Ultravoid. In order to do so, she’ll need to power up the Starseed by defeating Remnants of the Void and then destroy the Starseed itself.

Roadmap

Step 1: Play through the game and go for 100%
On your first playthrough of the game, you want to go for everything outside of the Speedrun and Hardcore run (which won’t be open yet). You don’t need to grab the collectibles as you go and can clean them up after you’ve completed the game, so you don’t have to worry about actually missing anything. You can play on any available difficulty so feel free to choose one to your liking. Outside of collectibles, your main goal will be getting a feel for the game and learning where all of the story-related items are, since you’ll be doing 2 more playthroughs that require you to know exactly where to go. When you reach the end, you’ll have the option to “Activate” or “Destroy” the Starseed (Destroying will net you an additional boss). Choose whichever you prefer first, then when you’re back on the main menu, load up your save file again and you’ll start at the Starseed. This time, choose whichever option you didn’t choose the first time. This will easily get you both ending-related trophies.

You’ll be earning these trophies:
Bronze Your Eyes Are Open
Bronze Urban Explorer
Bronze Rooting For You!
Bronze So Mush More
Bronze Beach Day
Bronze A Lava-ly Time

Step 2: Speedrun
Now that you’ve played through the game once, you should have a pretty good understanding of where to go for all of the story related content. For your speedrun, start a new save file and set the difficulty to Novice. Don’t worry about the Stashes or Journal pages, just focus on completing the main story path while picking up plasma along the way (you’ll need to regenerate your shield as you progress through the story). You’ll have 3 hours to zip your way through the game, which can be done in about 2-2.5 hours. If you want to give yourself an better chance, you can upload your save file to the PS Cloud or a USB after each area and use it as a backup in case you feel like you’re spending too much time in any specific area. You can also use a separate save file to practice areas beforehand and do your recorded run on your speedrun save. You don’t have to do this all in one sitting, so it shouldn’t be too rough of a time.

During this step you’ll earn these trophies:
Silver Voidsprinter

Step 3: Hardcore Mode
Hardcore Mode unlocks after you’ve completed the game once on any difficulty. Before you attempt this, you absolutely want to make sure you have earned Silver Rei-gn Supreme and do not overwrite the save file you got it on. When you attain 100% completion, you are rewarded with an additional Suit called the Absolution Suit. This combines all of the other suits into one, giving you max upgrades, giving you a better shot of not being absolutely rubbish trying to get through this mode. In Hardcore, the timer for the corruption sequences and the Remnant fights is very, very small. The margin for error is painfully small and you’ll be pretty much going for perfection during this. For more information on the task ahead, please see Gold Glutton For Punishment. Just be prepared to spend a decent amount of time on this step. If anything keeps you from getting the Platinum, it’ll be this. After this step, you deserve a pat on the back.

During this step you’ll earn the following trophies:
Gold Voidsprinter
40-platinum All Done

All Systems Go Gold
Fully power the Starseed

Story Related.

This will unlock once you’ve defeated all of the Remnants and have fully activated the Starseed in the Crater.

Wyrmslayer Gold
Destroy the Remnant in the Crater

Story Related.

The Remnant in the Crater is Crater Ouroboros. Before you can go up against them, you’ll need to clear the corruption in 3 areas (if you’re having trouble finding them, hold L1 and an icon will appear marking their locations). Ouroboros will be pretty straight forward of a fight. There are 3 phases, all of which will start at the tail. When you’re on top of the Remnant, you need to quickly move to each marker and destroy it. The markers with a circle on top of them and be grappled to with R1 whereas the ones without the circle can only be meleed. There’s a timer at the bottom of the screen that tells you how much time you have to hit the next marker. If the time runs out, that phase will cancel out and you’ll have to try it again. On the 3rd phase, the actual body of the Remnant will glow red. If you touch this, the phase will cancel out and you’ll have to try again. If you die, you’ll just restart the current phase you’re on (the game autosaves after each phase).

If you’re having any trouble, please see VoidSprinter Silver for a video that includes all of the Remnant fights.

City Slicker Gold
Destroy the Remnant in the Broken Capital

Story Related.

The Remnant in the Broken Capital is the Forgotten Thresher. Before you can go up against them, you’ll need to clear the corruption in 4 areas (if you’re having trouble finding them, hold L1 and an icon will appear marking their locations). As the Thresher flies around, it’ll drop mines that you need to dodge. The starting points of the phases will be its legs with the white platforms on them, so just keep an eye out for the marker you can grapple to.

Tripod Toppled Gold
Destroy the Remnant in Ironroot Basin

Story Related.

The Remnant in Ironroot Basin is the Lost Sentry. Before you can go up against them, you’ll need to clear the corruption in 4 areas (if you’re having trouble finding them, hold L1 and an icon will appear marking their locations). This Remnant is one of the more time-consuming ones but only because of how long it takes for the phase sequences to start. The Lost Sentry will be wandering around the Basin and when you get close, it’ll glow red and then fire a barrage of explosives your way. You need to dodge these, then wait for it to lower its arm down so you can grapple onto the starting marker. If it doesn’t fire the explosives right away, skate away from it and the reapproach.

If you’re having any trouble, please see VoidSprinterSilver for a video that includes all of the Remnant fights.

Head In The Clouds Gold
Destroy the Remnant in the Eternal Garden

Story Related.

The Remnant in the Eternal Garden is the Withered Eye. Before you can go up against them, you’ll need to clear the corruption in 4 areas (if you’re having trouble finding them, hold L1 and an icon will appear marking their locations). This is the only Remnant whose fight takes place on its own small moon. As with all of the other Remnants, this one will also have 3 phases. Before they start, you’ll need to get close to the Remnant and wait for them to glow red. Shortly after, they’ll raise their arms up in the arm and slam them down on the ground. You’ll know where it’ll land as there will be a circle on the ground that you need to avoid. Once they’ve slammed down, look for the marker to grapple to. The markers for this ‘boss’ will be on its hands/feet as well as on top of its shell.

Disarmed Gold
Destroy the Remnant in the Mirrorsea

Story Related.

The Remnant in the Mirrorsea is Rust Dagger. Before you can go up against them, you’ll need to clear the corruption in 4 areas (if you’re having trouble finding them, hold L1 and an icon will appear marking their locations). As with all of the other Remnants, this one will also have 3 phases. The main thing you need to make sure to do is avoid the poisonous water during this fight. He’ll slam down his sword and fists to start each phase, after which you just need to locate the marker to grapple to. As mentioned before, the markers with a circle on top of them and be grappled to with whereas the ones without the circle can only be meleed.

Towers of Power Gold
Destroy the Remnant in the Luminous Peak

Story Related.

The Remnant in the Luminous Peak is the Burning Hunter. Before you can go up against them, you’ll need to clear the corruption in 4 areas (if you’re having trouble finding them, hold L1 and an icon will appear marking their locations). As with all of the other Remnants, this one will also have 3 phases. Scattered around the Luminous Peaks area are a few large standing towers. During the fight, an abnormal mushroom will appear next to these. When you hit them, a grind rail will appear that will shoot you up into the sky where the Remnant is flying around. While you’re up in the air, look for the grapple point on its wing to attach to. When you’re on top of the Remnant, you need to quickly move to each marker and destroy it. The markers with a circle on top of them and be grappled to with whereas the ones without the circle can only be melee’d.

Moving Forward Gold
Destroy the Starseed and free Echo

This will be one of the two endings available in the game, but don’t worry, you won’t have to play through the game twice to get both. After you’ve defeated the Remnants and powered up the Starseed, make your way to the Crater. Speak with Cyd and choose the “deactivate” option. Leave the conversation and skate on the central rail leading to the top of the Starseed. Interact with the device at the top and when given the option to “Activate” or “Destroy” the Starseed (this will be after your initial “Activate” cue), choose to Destroy it. This will cause you to have to complete one more fight before the game ends.

As with the Remnant fights, this final one will consist of 3 phases. You need to wait for her to stab her wires into the ground, then grapple onto the one that’s marked. The next will be just as you did before; hit the markers before the time runs out. After you’ve removed all 3 wires, the game will end and the trophy will unlock.

If you’re having any trouble, please see VoidSprinter Silver for a video that includes all of the Remnant fights.

To get the other ending (Return to Forever Gold), just reload your save file from the main menu and it’ll start you at the bottom of the Starseed.

Return to Forever Gold
Activate the Starseed

This will be one of the two endings available in the game, but don’t worry, you won’t have to play through the game twice to get both. After you’ve defeated the Remnants and powered up the Starseed, make your way to the Crater. Speak with Cyd and choose the “deactivate” option. Leave the conversation and skate on the central rail leading to the top of the Starseed. Interact with the device at the top and when given the option to “Activate” or “Destroy” the Starseed (this will be after your initial “Activate” cue), choose to Activate it. This will end the game and unlock the trophy.

To get the other ending (Moving Forward Gold), just reload your save file from the main menu and it’ll start you at the bottom of the Starseed.

Plasma Drive
Collect 1000 Plasma

See Universal Donor Silver.

Plasma Overdrive
Collect 5000 Plasma

See Universal Donor Silver.

Universal Donor Gold
Collect 10,000 Plasma

The Plasma is the pink orbs you see floating around. You’ll be needing to pick up these up as you progress through the story since after each Remnant fight, you lose a cell of your shield and it will cost Plasma to regenerate it. The floating plasma will all be worth 1 and the crystalized plasma will be worth 100 (the pink crystals you can break). As long as you’re being diligent about grabbing these, you should get well over 10,000 as you play through the game. Each time you return to an area, the plasma will respawn so there will be an infinite supply available. If you don’t have 10,000 by the time you finish the game, load up your save file from the main menu and you’ll be able to freely roam around. Collect all of the plasma you see and when you hit 10,000, the trophy will unlock. This does not have to be 10,000 on your persons at once. It’s cumulative so feel free to spend the plasma as you play through the game.

The Aggrieved Stranger Gold
Complete Lyris’ Quest

You’ll first meet Lyris in the Broken Captial (you can’t miss them, the conversation will automatically start as you make your way through the first tower before you meet Cyd). After the initial meeting, you’ll need to talk with Lyris 3 more times, then meet them in the Sanctuary in Ironroot Basin. Their locations are as follows:

#1: Broken Captial – At the top of the Clocktower is a corruption you need to clear. When you do, you can drop down into the Clocktower. The room you end up in will have Lyris standing near a workshop of sorts.

#2: Broken Capital – In the back of the area, there is a building with 2 rails in the back of it that lead up to the roof. On the opposite side of this building (towards the center of the area) is a doorway leading to a small living area. Lyris is in this small room.

#3: Ironroot Basin – If you’re facing Cyd with your back towards the entrance, head right and there will be a large building with a lot of purple pipes coming out and surrounding it. Lyris will be inside this building.

#4: Ironroot Basin – This will be the Sancutary. Across the large broken bridge left of Cyd will be a round building that you need to activate switches to open (this will be story related). Once you’re inside, stay on the bottom floor and head to the opposite side of the entrance. On the backside of the tree will be a tunnel leading down into a cavern where you can find Lyris. This tunnel won’t be available until you’ve spoken with Lyris the previous 3 times. After this final interaction, the trophy will unlock.

Crust Station Vacation Gold
Complete Ames’ Quest

You’ll first meet Ames in Mirrorsea (you can’t miss them, the conversation will automatically start as you make your way up the initial rail section). You’ll speak to him again once you get up into his ship in the sky (this will be story related). After you second meeting, you’ll need to locate 4 of his crew’s crashed ships and recover anything you can. When you find them, be sure to choose the option “Contact Ames”. No other dialogue options matter. After you’ve found the 4th ship, you’ll need to make your way to the Vault and speak with Ames one more time. The locations of the ships and the Vault are as follows (these will all be in Mirrorsea):

Ship #1: After you’ve completed the initial rail section, you’ll eventually need to grind on 2 rails to hit 2 powerboxes that will activate a booster. When you go up the booster, you’ll grind along a flower to the right and run up a curved wall. At the top of the curved wall will be the crashed ship. The device you need to interact with will be on the small pier just near the ship.

Ship #2: After you’ve met Cyd, you’ll have access to the Pavillion (it’s the large round, columned building just next to the large blue cloud plume). To the left of the Pavillion (if your back is facing Cyd), across some poisonous water, will be another crashed ship in the back corner. The device you need to interact with will be on the ground on the left.

Ship #3: As you progress with clearing the corruption, you’ll eventually find yourself in a very large crashed and broken ship. The corruption you need to clear will be on the “deck”, but just behind the booster you use to get up there will be the device you need to interact with.

Ship #4: To get to the ship mentioned above, you had to extend a flower vine to reach it. Make your way back to this vine and hit it so it goes in the opposite direction, towards a building out in the poisonous water. Make your way up this building and on the opposite side will be the crashed ship. The device you need to interact with will be just in front of it.

Vault: After you’ve interacted with all 4 devices (and contacted Ames about them), make your way to the Pavillion. On the backside will be a now open tunnel leading to a Vault filled with gold. Ames will be waiting for you here. Speak with him and the trophy will unlock when you’re done.

Ahrric’s Pilgrimage Gold
Complete Ahrric’s Quest

You’ll first meet Ahrric in the Eternal Garden, or more so on the way to the Eternal Garden. The 1st meeting will be story related so you don’t have to worry about missing him. After the first encounter, you’ll need to find him one more time, then find 4 Elders and repeat the following phrase to them:

Elders who dream… in crepuscular infinity… part of the eternal veil… and enlighten me!

After you’ve recited this phrase to all 4 Elders, you’ll need to find Ahrric one more time and speak with him to get the trophy. This questline will start in the Eternal Garden and end in The Luminous Peak, so it won’t be as quick to finish as the other two. The locations of everything are as follows:

Ahrric’s 2nd Encounter (the 1st on is story related) – Eternal Garden: If you’re facing Cyd with your back towards the entrance, head to the left to find a small building. Ahhric is inside.

Elder #1 – Eternal Garden: If you’re facing Cyd with your back towards the entrance, go right and in the back of the area will be a building across a crevase that you need to cross with a red rail. If you didn’t already clear the corruption, the building will have an eye looking out the entrance. If you did already clear the corruption, it’s the small building just to the right of the ramp leading up to the higher area. Jump down the ledge to the right of the small building and there will be another entrance on the side. The Elder is inside this small room.

Elder #2 – Eternal Garden: After you’ve cleared all but 1 of the corruption spots, you’ll need to make your way underground to get the last one. Before you take the yellow rail to leave the underground area, go to the left of the yellow rail to find a narrow room with the Elder inside.

Elder #3 – Luminous Peak: Just next to Cyd, there is a goo wall that you can climb up. Ignore this wall and just past it will be a tunnel leading into the mountain side. The Elder is inside here.

Elder #4 – Luminous Peak: After you’ve taken the super long yellow rail to a higher up area, you’ll eventually climb up and have to cross over a few platforms with some flying enemies around them. On the other side of these platforms will be a doorway immediately on the right. Go inside and follow the path all the way to the end to find the Elder in a small room.

Ahhric Final Location – Luminous Peak: After you’ve spoken with all 4 Elders and recited the proper chant, make your way back to Cyd and use the red rail on the ground near them to head back towards the entrance of the area. Just near the rail will be a large, now opened building (there’s a blue rail right next to it as well). Head inside and speak with Ahhric to unlock the trophy.

A Helping Hand Gold
Complete all optional questlines

There are 3 NPC quests to complete, none of which are missable (if you reload your save file after completing the game, you’ll be able to freely roam about each area). All 3 are associated with 3 other trophies so please see those individual trophies for a breakdown on what you need to do for the quests. As soon as you complete the 3rd and final one (they can be done in any order), the trophy will unlock.

Lyris: The Aggrieved Stranger Silver
Ames: Crust Station Vacation Silver
Ahhric: Ahrric’s Pilgrimage Silver

Hobbyist Archeologist
Collect 1 Voidrunner Stash

See Reliquarian Silver.

Reliquarian Gold
Collect all Voidrunner Stashes

In total, there are 28 Voidrunner Stashes (or Void Logs) that you need to find and interact with. Unlike the Journal Pages for There and Back Again Silver, these will be a little easier to find as they have a blue light shooting out from the top of them, making them visible from pretty far away. There is 1 in the Crater, 5 in the Broken Capital, 5 in Ironroot Basin, 5 in the Eternal Garden, 6 in Mirrorsea, and 6 in The Luminous Peak. You can get these as you go or collect them after you’ve completed the story. All 28 are required for Rei-gn Supreme Silver and after collecting all 28, you will unlock also have unlocked all of the main suits.

If you prefer to use a text guide for these, PowerPyx has provided a well written collectible guide that includes text and images that you can use here.

If you prefer to use a video guide for these, please reference the one below for all 28 locations.

Voidsprinter Gold
Complete the game in under 3 hours

Missable.

While this trophy is missable if you’re trying to get everything but Hardcore (Glutton For Punishment Gold) on your initial run, it’s highly recommended you save this trophy for a separate run after you’ve completed the game at least once. That way you know exactly where you need to go and can focus purely on the story without having to worry about any collectibles. The only thing you should remotely care about actually picking up are the pink plasma orbs since you’ll lose your shield after each Remnant fight. You should also be doing this run on Novice since it greatly increases the time limits of the Remnant’s phases and reduces the chance you’ll need to replay any section.

If you want to make it even easier for yourself, you can do this trophy alongside your initial run, but on a separate save file. When you’ve completed a section, load up your speedrun file and smash through the section again while it’s fresh on your mind. 3 hours is a generous time limit for this game, so you don’t have to worry about being absolutely exact with everything. Even with mistakes here and there, you should be able to complete the game in about 2-2.5 hours.

You must choose to Destroy the Starseed at the end. It would be great to just activate and shave off another 15 minutes of gameplay, but you must complete the final fight at the end for the speedrun to count. Once you’ve finished the fight, the trophy will unlock during the final cutscene sequence.

Speedy Slayer
Kill 5 enemies in under 5 seconds

There’s a pretty good chance you’ll get this naturally as you progress through the game, especially when as you get to the later levels that have a decent amount of enemies in each area. You should be doing your Speedrun on “Novice” which will allow you to 1-shot the small white box-like enemies. There are a lot of these little guys around the poisonous pools in Mirrorsea (near where Cyd is) so if you don’t have the trophy by then, that’ll be the best place to get it.

Aerial Assailant
Kill 3 enemies without touching the ground

As with Speedy Slayer Bronze, there’s a pretty good chance this will unlock naturally and on the small, white, box-like enemies as well. You should be doing your speedrun on “Novice” which will allow you to 1-shot these little guys, making this trophy much easier. If you don’t have this by the time you reach Mirrorsea, there are plenty of these little enemies in the poisnous pools around where Cyd is located. There are a few groups of 3+ in this area so just run up to them to grab their attention and when you have 3 close together, jump up in the air and attack to hit them. As long as at least 3 are killed before your feet touch the ground/water again, the trophy will unlock.

Pretty Fly
Remain airborne for 10 seconds

You might be thinking you’re going to need to jump off of a tall building for this, but I assure you, those attempts will be a waste of your time. Instead, when you gain access to Mirrorsea, head to the far back area where the large blue cloud plume is jetting up into the sky. At the top is a “dark/under” side and a “light/top” side. Connecting these is a tunnel. If you jump into the tunnel, you’ll fly through it and out the otherside. As you’re coming back down, aim for the tunnel again and you’ll go back through and fly out the side you started on. Repeat this process about 7-9 times (depending on how high you were when you started) and as long as your feet don’t touch the ground between loops, the trophy will unlock.

Please note that it’ll more than likely feel a lot longer than the 10 seconds required. You can use your timeslip to slow down time to better aim, but slowing down the time also slows down the clock.

A Veruki’s Tale
Find 5 of Tarragon Danderpaw’s lost journals

See There and Back Again Silver.

There and Back Again Gold
Find all of Tarragon Danderpaw’s lost journals

There are a total of 15 lost journals (or journal pages really) that you need to find and interact with. There are 0 in the Crater, 3 in the Broken Capital, 5 in Ironroot Basin, 2 in the Eternal Garden, 3 in Mirrorsea, and finally 2 in The Luminous Peak. For the most part, these will all be somewhat out in the open (or in easily accessbible areas). The only exception is one of the pages found in Mirrorsea which will require a bit of acrobatics to get to (this will be #13 in the video below). You can pick them all up as you go, or wait until after you complete the story and pick them up in freeplay. Please note that there is no in-game tracker for these nor are they required for Rei-gn Supreme Silver. For that reason, it’s best to get them in the same order as either of the collectible guides provided below.

If you prefer to use a text guide for these, PowerPyx has provided a well written collectible guide that includes text and images that you can use here.

If you prefer to use a video guide for these, please reference the one below for all 15 locations.

Glutton For Punishment Gold
Complete the game on Hardcore Mode

Without this trophy, this game can easily be about a 3/10, but since it’s here, that’s why the difficulty shows as it does in the Overview. Hardcore Mode unlocks after you’ve completed the game at least once (on any difficulty) and will test your patience and agility. Whereas on Novice you had ample time to defeat the Remnants and complete the corruption sections, Hardcore Mode gives you very little time, leaving an insanely small room for error. One mis-step is all but guaranteed to make you fail a timed-section, so you’ll need to be very precise for this. On the previous difficulties, if you failed or died, you just had to restart at the latest checkpoint/start of the current phase. On Hardcore Mode, if you die, you’ll start the entire fight over from the start. The shield boxes are plentiful even on Hardcore so make sure you’re topping yourself off as much as you need. In addition to starting over if you die, the Remnants will start the fight glowing red, meaning you can’t touch their body at all during the entire fight or you’ll take damage. Again, this mode is quite rough.

To make it a bit easier on yourself, make sure you have Rei-gn Supreme Silver before attempting this run. When you complete a save file to 100%, you are rewarded an extra suit called the Absolution Suit which combines all of the other suit’s abilities into one. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to equip this until you’ve defeated the first Remnant in the Crater, but luckily that’s the easiest Remnant out of all of them. Not so luckily is that without that suit, you’ll still struggle to get the timing down properly.

Just as with the speedrun, you want to focus solely on completing the story. There’s no reason to do the quests or collect any of the Stashes or Journals, so just focus on clearing the corruption and taking down the Remnants. Of course you do still want to pick up any plasma you come across since your shield is absolutely crucial on this difficulty. You’ll still lose one cell after each Remnant fight, but if you can keep it topped off or even unlock an extra cell before these encounters, the better chance you’ll give yourself of not having to start over each fight completely.

Rei-gn Supreme Gold
Attain 100% completion on a save file

To attain 100% completion, you’ll need to complete the game (of course), find and interact with all of the Voidrunner Stashes (which will unlock all of the suits), complete the 3 side quests (A Helping Hand Gold), and complete the game by Destroying the Starseed at the end, prompting the final fight with Wretched Rei (which you must also complete). The story-related stuff will of course come naturally and you can pick up the Stashes along the way or after you’ve completed the game (see Reliquarian Silver for their locations). If you happen to choose the wrong ending, it’s ok. Just reload your save file from the main menu and it’ll pop you back into the game at the point before you skate up the Starseed. The only thing not required for this trophy are the Journals for There and Back Again Silver, but since you have to do the Stashes on one save file, it’s best to work on that trophy at the same time to get it out of the way. Depending on what your final task is will determine when this trophy will unlock. You can check your progress by looking at your save file on the main menu. The % at the top of your save file is your progress. This will need to show 100% for the trophy. Upon completing at least one save file to 100%, you will unlock the Absolution Suit which is an all-in-one suit that combines the perks of all of the others into one. This is insanely beneficial for your run on Hardcore for Glutton For Punishment Gold, so it’s definitely recommended you get this trophy prior to that run.
