Introduction

Welcome to the Formula Retro Racing trophy guide!
A retro open wheel racing game from Repixel8 Ltd, and it’s described as “a retro style arcade racing game that’s influenced by the classic arcade racing games of the early 90’s.

Are you up for the challenge? It’s not as easy as it may seem…

Roadmap

Step 1: Arcade Mode
Compete over 8 different tracks, with points are awarded for the degree of difficulty.
Your aim is to gather 400 points in total in order to unlock Gold Professional license.

You may wish to move onto Step 2 after winning 3 races, as you earn race points within the Eliminator Mode too.
All of the other trophies mentioned below will come naturally on your way to 400 points.

You’ll be earning these trophies:
Bronze Race complete
Bronze First Win
Bronze Unlock Desert Track
Bronze Amateur license
Bronze Win 3 races
Bronze Unlock Forest track
Silver Unlock Mountain track
Silver Semi-pro license
Gold Professional license

Step 2: Eliminator Mode
You will need to reach, and stay within the Top 10 positions over an 30 lap race, in order to build your level. Your level will increase each time you cross the line, and to reach Level 30 you will need to complete all 30 laps. See Silver Eliminator level 30 for more information.

During this step you’ll earn these trophies:
Bronze Eliminator
Bronze Eliminator level 10
Bronze Eliminator level 20
Silver Eliminator level 30

Tips and Strategies

You get a big boost from drafting opponents, so this is your go too in order to win in this game. It is also paramount that you stick to the racing line as much as possible due to the damage suffered from going onto the curbs, or into the barriers.

Awarded for reaching 100 race points. See Gold Professional license for more information.

Semi-pro license Silver
Reach 300 race points and receive a semi-pro license

Awarded for reaching 200 race points. See Gold Professional license for more information.

Professional license Gold
Reach 400 race points and receive a pro license

You need to complete at minimum 7 of the 8 races on Expert to be awarded this, and all the other trophies that go with it.
Points however are accumulative, so you can do the same track on all 3 difficulties in order to boost your race points, if Expert is too challenging. You are also awarded points whilst participating in Eliminator Mode.

You will be awarded the following points for winning the race based on the difficulty –

  • Beginner – 20 Points
  • Advanced – 40 Points
  • Expert – 60 Points

I personally found that the checkpoint timings on Expert were very tight, therefore I suggest that you go the route of winning both Beginner & Advanced races. It is however up too you, just compete on the levels you feel comfortable, and then build up to Expert if you need too.

Eliminator Bronze
Compete in an eliminator race

This can be done on any difficulty, and any of the tracks. Just reach the Top 10, then drop back and cross the line in a lower position.

Eliminator level 10 Bronze
Reach level 10 in an eliminator race

Awarded for completing 10 laps in an eliminator race, within the Top 10 positions. See Silver Eliminator level 30 for more information.

Eliminator level 20 Bronze
Reach level 20 in an eliminator race

Awarded for completing 20 laps in an eliminator race, within the Top 10 positions. See Silver Eliminator level 30 for more information.

Eliminator level 30 Silver
Reach level 30 in an eliminator race

You will need to reach, and stay within the Top 10 positions over an 30 lap race, in order to build your level. Your level will increase each time you cross the line, and to reach Level 30 you will need to complete all 30 laps.

This is without doubt the hardest trophy in the game, so be prepared to attempt a couple of times, as you need a near perfect race to get this.

  • Eliminator
  • Speed Oval
  • Beginner

It does not matter what difficulty you do this on, so why bother making things harder. Even on Beginner you will need to consistently lap in the low 29 seconds to get this done.

Unlock Desert Track Bronze
Reach 50 Race points to unlock Desert track

Awarded for reaching 50 race points. See Gold Professional license for more information.

Unlock Forest track Bronze
Reach 125 Race points to unlock Forest track

Awarded for reaching 125 race points. See Gold Professional license for more information.

Unlock Mountain track Silver
Reach 200 Race points to unlock Mountain track

Awarded for reaching 200 race points. See Gold Professional license for more information.
